Loch Ness Monster

New Nessie Footage

New video footage, apparently somewhat compelling, from Loch Ness has been taken by a scientist, Gordon Holmes. Cryptomundo has technically been unable to upload the video, but you can view it here. [Update: The reported broken link, noted in early comments, has been corrected.] Below is Holmes at the site of his filming. Gordon Holmes told the Yorkshire Post I was sat in a lay-by about 70ft above the loch – it was 10pm but the sun was still shining on the mountains on the other side. I was minutes from going home and I had only gone up there [...]

“Mythic” Opens

The exhibition, “Mythic Creatures” opens at The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City on Saturday, May 26, 2007. Two good articles on the exhibition and the opening are (click on the title of each article for the link): “The Surprising Realities of Mythical Creatures,” LiveScience; “Exploring the Nature of the Unnatural,” New York Times. On some level, I was surprised to see Richard Ellis is a co-curator of the exhibition, while on another, I wasn’t. Richard has painted and illustrated various museums and books with some outstanding images of marine life, has a deep interest in [...]

Yuriy Morozov Dies

Yuriy N. Morozov, 55, a well known Russian Fortean (anomalist) and leading authority on paleovisitology (the study of hypothetical ancient visitors to the Earth) died on April 29, 2007, in Moscow, Russia. [Rubtsov is himself famed for his studies of Tunguska (1972-2001) and his intriguing winged weirdies article in FSR1979, “A Flying ‘Man’ in Black in Russia.”] Yuriy Morozov was an advocate for the linking of all studies of unexplained phenomena, anomalistics, under one tent. He addressed the [...]

Loch Ness Toad

Look what Robert Rines-linked investigations have turned up recently at the bottom of Loch Ness. A common toad. Why was it down there? What was it doing? What else is down there?
