New Mokele-mbembe Expedition Departs
The latest expedition to search for the “dinosaurlike” cryptids known by African natives as mokele-mbembe has departed. Milt Marcy, Peter Beach and Rob Mullin left Portland, Oregon for Cameroon on January 10, 2006. They will be teaming up with Pierre Sima to conduct the next phase of the cryptozoological research on the Congo/Cameroon border. The Milt Marcy Expedition is the fourth such trek to Africa, with the three before this one being lead by William Gibbons. Searching for Bigfoot is not a recreational activity that should be taken lightly. Our thoughts and condolences to the families involved. We congratulate the local press for not using the often-employed “ridicule factor” in the reporting of this story. The Centre for Fortean Zoology’s May 2005 expedition to Mongolia is summarized in an article today. The CFZ’s cryptozoologists reportedly discovered two animals previously unknown to science – a dragon-like lizard and a two-meter-long horned snake, although information on where the formal publication of these finding occurred is lacking. Possible Identification Proposed: The Rediscovery of an Extinct Species The new animal from Borneo does somewhat match another camera trap "mystery creature" photographed by Malaysian wildlife specialists, and pictured directly below.
