This is a time for caution, says an experienced werewolf hunter. Linda Godfrey, the author of The Beast of Bray Road and Hunting the American Werewolf, shares the image of this newly available mask (at top), as an example of the kinds of costume items easily obtainable nowadays. From photographs of probable people in Bahia mud to sightings of Skinwalkers, she notes, it is a time for care for all investigators.
Cryptid Cat: Maine Mystery Despite Fox Fur
This photograph was not published again with all the articles being run in New England (from Boston to Bangor) today on the results of the DNA sampling. Oakland — A scrap of hair and skin from a rock where an Oakland man reported seeing a mountain lion came from a fox, according to a state biologist. Still, the results of DNA testing on the sample neither prove nor disprove Oakland resident Kelvin Higgins’ assertion that he saw a mountain lion in his yard on a warm day in April, according to Keel Kemper, a state wildlife biologist. “There are a [...]
What’s On Your Lesser-Known Cryptids List?
What are the lesser-known cryptids that you know about, that you are pursuing, and/or that you feel should get more attention? Nowadays, it is easy to come up with a list of popular well-known cryptids. Click on this one of the top 50 here, to see what I mean. Today, you can more clearly seen how he organized his data on unknown hairy hominiods and other cryptids. Once again, these photographs were taken and shared with me by Christoph Kummer, who was allowed to begin to examine the Heuvelmans files and then take these photographs, at my request. I then [...]

The following images are the first ones I have seen of the inside of “The Department of Cryptozoology B. Heuvelmans, Museum of Zoology, Lausanne, Switzerland.” This location is now the sanctuary for Bernard Heuvelmans’ collection of books, paintings, and raw material detailing his years of cryptozoology research and gathering of cryptid data. These photographs were taken and shared with me by Christoph Kummer, who was allowed to do an initial examination of the Heuvelmans files and then take these photographs, at my request. I then asked and was granted permission to publish these photos at Cryptomundo, by Olivier Glaizot, Conservateur, [...]
