Swamp Creature Actor Dies

Doctor, I was thinking… just the work that you’ve done with the crocodiles and taking them back along the evolutionary path and making them into fish would be enough to win you world acclaim.“Tom,” Curse of the Swamp Creature Yes, but acclaim… that’s nothing. To create life, to move it up and down the evolutionary path… that’s something. Something I don’t think you quite appreciate, Tom.“Dr. Simond Trent,” Curse of the Swamp Creature The plot to Curse of the Swamp Creature is about as simple as the movie. Deep in the rural swamps of east Texas the mad Dr. Simond [...]

Sunday Comics: Loren Coleman, Cryptid Hunter

Peter Loh has penned a new image (above), and I feel honored to be placed under his own special cryptocartoonist’s magnifying glass, once again. In “My Comic Life,” I overviewed various artists’ past graphic attempts to capture me, including the following by Loh: That Loren, the fedora-wearing Loren, was created by Loh for Scott Marlowe’s Crypto-Man comic series. Goofy in the Pine Tree State (no telling which one is Goofy) is one of Peter Loh’s more subtle but funny renderings, which touched close to home, as this is a visual commentary on the 2006 Maine Mutant investigation. Searching For the Ropen in New Guinea: “Destination Truth” Makes Contact From Rainforest

I have heard from Neil Mandt (above), the executive producer for "Destination Truth," the new series that will be appearing on the Sci Fi Channel this spring. He’s been corresponding with me for some months now, and decided to give Cryptomundo an exclusive on what he and his crew are up to right now. One location the series explored was Johor (above) to investigate reports of the Malaysian Bigfoot. Another they are going to deal with is Mongolia. Incredibly, thanks to modern technology, Neil emailed me yesterday – from the rainforest – to give me an update and exclusive on [...]

Weird Wisconsin: Man Bat

Click on image for full size version Wisconsin’s Coulee News has published a story on January 3, 2006, entitled: "Man Bat Tale Tops 2006 for Weirdness" by Randy Erikson. It gives a journalistic overview of the case, although Linda Godfrey warns me it does have some factual mistakes. Her website with this same incident is found by clicking here and the student newspaper’s story is a pdf here (go to page five of the document). The article reads: As we start another year, I know there are at least a few among us who will look back at 2006 and [...]

Southern Fried Bigfoot

Coming to a DVD, hopefully during 2007, Sean Whitley’s documentary, Southern Fried Bigfoot will showcase his several years journey collecting footage about a distinct type of unknown hairy hominoids. Whitley wanted to clarify some recent comments found in a press interview on Chester Moore noted on Cryptomundo, in which a reader might get the idea that Moore was the individual "completing" this film. Sean Whitley, writer/director of Southern Fried Bigfoot (SFB), wishes to share the following…: To set the record straight about Southern Fried Bigfoot for Cryptomundo: Chester Moore, like Craig Woolheater and Loren Coleman, has been a part of [...]

Footprints

This year is starting off with a bang regarding the Skunk Ape. First, I wondered aloud if it was time to ponder the Myakka case anew (please note, not "Port Myakka" as given below), and now this (first published overnight with a different headline, since updated here, as it appears in today’s paper): January 02, 2007 Miami Herald "Kids armed with cameras chase after the Skunk Ape" by Curtis Morgan The scene: the Everglades, mysterious in the darkness. Four college kids, armed only with a night-vision camera, trudge through palmetto thicket, guided by a snake-booted man who claims to have [...]
