New Unknown Fossil Great Ape
To many, the reconstructions of Lucy (above) and other Australopithecus species appear to look rather apelike. However, until recently, fossil finds for the ancestors of the great apes have been lacking. That all seems to be changing. The nine fossil teeth (below) from Ethiopia are being announced in Nature, as gorilla-like and said to be from a previously unknown species of great ape. Patty Tattoo
Here you have yet another tattoo, one of a rather hairless (apparently) version of the Patterson Bigfoot. Cryptomundo reader pdxbigfoot writes: I’ve been getting tattooed for about 20 yrs and got this about 13 yrs ago. It’s a very interesting artist’s rendition of “Patty.” I have plans of a partial Skookum mask on the left side of my face in my later years as I wear heavy black work [clothes?] on my right side now. New Mystery Fish Photos
Here’s a new mystery fish photograph just received. Anyone have any ideas what it is? Although it is not a cryptid, it certainly is an unknown until identified. These photos are making the Internet rounds as evidence of a new world record piranha, an extremely dubious identification. Meanwhile, the Cryptomundo mystery fish photograph on an antique postcard (first noted at Cryptomundo on November 29, 2005, contributed by phyllis) has still not been solved. Russian Snowman Revisited
Early in August 2007, the above 1990 Nikolaj Avdeev “Russian Snowman” photograph was making the rounds. It seemed only right to take another look, with some analytic distance. What can be learned by comparing it with this 21st Century Bigfoot toy?
