While I was in Colorado, the story broke of the possible discovery of an immature Ogopogo, the lake cryptid of Okanagan Lake, British Columbia. Let’s take a look.
Cadborosaurus willsi Revisited
Due to the new sighting of Ogopogo, it was only a matter of time before someone would begin wondering what happened to Caddy, Cadborosaurus willsi, the Sea Serpent of Cadboro Bay, off British Columbia. Victoria’s Times Colonist ran an update today. According to Paul Leblond, a retired University of British Columbia oceanography professor and author a 1995 book on the Cadborosaurus, Caddy was last spotted several years ago off the shores of Galiano Island. “The search is still ongoing,” Leblond (pictured below) told a reporter. Leblond said Jason Walton, vice-president of the B.C. Scientific Cryptozoology Club, keeps a video camera [...]
New Ogopogo Sighting
I am back from Alberta, and this is going to be a day of catch-up. There’s been a new sighting of Ogopogo in Okanagan Lake, British Columbia, which took place, coincidentially, as I was talking of Lake Monsters (including Ogopogo), Sea Serpents, and Dragons, at the Royal Alberta Museum, in the province next door. On Sunday, July 20, 2008, Robyn Holman reportedly saw Ogopogo as she and a friend were travelling along the highway near Peachland, British Columbia. Holman says she noticed a wave in the water on Okanagan Lake and couldn’t believe her eyes when she turned to look. [...]
Seljord Serpent Filmed: Blobdracontology?
Selma, the so-called “Sea Serpent” that lives in Lake Seljord (Seljordsvatnet) obviously would have to be a Lake Monster, akin to the Loch Ness Monster. The location is near the inland town of Seljord, a municipality in the county of Telemark, Norway. The town’s coat-of-arms was created in 1989, and shows the “sea serpent Selma.” According to most who have seen the supposed watery cryptid, Selma resembles a giant eel. The first eyewitness accounts date back to the 18th century. This is video of the “Seljord Serpent” or Selma, which was taken at Lake Seljord, Norway, by Adam Davies and [...]
