Here are some recent things said by Brent Swancer (mystery man) and Sheila Collins (kittenz) in an exchange about hybrids, which was going off-topic within another blog. The opinions expressed in the following comments do not (necessarily) express those of any Cryptomundo bloggers, and should be viewed as readers’ commentary versus verified factual information that has been fully researched, although it may have been. If people wish to discuss hybrids, here it is the discussion originally posted as comments only. Brent Swancer on hybrids: Not all hybrids get huge, and there are hybrids that are smaller than both parents. For [...]
More Trailcam Weirdness
Of course, we all want a good photo of a Bigfoot via one of these automatic trailway cameras. In the meantime, here are a few more amazing things being caught with these trailcams. Cryptomundo member PhotoExpert generously passes along more from his collection of trailcam photographs he’s gathered over the years. Unfortunately, he has no further info on their origins. Can you name all the animals seen together in these images?
Ivory-Billeds & Idaho Grizzlies: Coming Quests
This file photo shows a grizzly bear moving through the brush in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. (Courtesy: Yellowstone National Park) In September 2007, a black bear hunter “mistakenly” shot and killed a grizzly bear in the “rugged Idaho terrain near Kelly Creek about three miles from the Montana border,” according to the Associated Press. The 450-pound male grizzly killed by the unidentified hunter on Labor Day, September 3rd was shot in the North Fork of the Clearwater Drainage about 20 miles north of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness boundary and within the 25,000-square-mile Bitterroot Experimental Population Area. It was the first [...]
Holmes & the Lost World
The four day weekend is turning into a monster. No time to yourself. The turkey sandwiches, turkey stew, and turkey anything are getting old. The cries to go shopping are reaching new heights. All the football games were too predictable. There’s not been a good Sasquatch flap or decent African dinosaur report all year. Otters, fox squirrels, and mangy bears are haunting your dreams. You need a short break from “Black Friday,” (traditionally those 24 hours after Thanksgiving in which the malls are filled with holiday shoppers looking for cryptid replicas and supposedly other things). How about a cryptofiction journey [...]
Overkill? Or Really Orang?
This is the trap being deployed for the “fox squirrel” or “spider monkey,” reportedly theorized to be in Baker County, Florida, instead of the originally-described “orangutan.” What is this equipment usually employed to trap? Bears.
South China Tiger Update: It’s A Fake
The controversy over the authenticity photographs of the believed-to-be-extinct wild South China Tiger seemed to have come to an end on Friday when a netizen posted online what he claimed was a “convincing proof” that the pictures are fakes – a New Year picture of a tiger that hangs on the wall of his home. The man, named “Panzhihua-Xydz,” said: “It’s the same picture. Even the stripes are identical.” He left an online message that he bought the picture last year, but did not specify the date. The discovery has encouraged skeptics who have always believed the pictures were a [...]
More on Jacobs Bear
Here is a new short video analysis of the photographs of the Jacobs mangy bear. Of course, despite my opinion that might seem to agree with the conclusions of this video, the point must be made that most of the “Bigfoot” used on the following video for comparative reasons are fakes, hoaxes, people in suits, and such. I suppose this entire episode (but not this video) will be remembered as a moment in history, someday, and a clever way for the BRFO (sic) to obtain some visits to their site. Moving on.

“Bigfooters” Know-It-Alls During Ape Investigations
The unfolding story of the sightings and examination of “orangutan sightings” in Florida has taken a new twist. Apparently, at least one self-proclaimed “Bigfoot investigator” from an unidentified “Bigfoot research group” is messing with the local authorities in Florida. I’ve never found it an effective forensic interviewing technique to use terms like “Bigfoot” with local wildlife or law enforcement officers, let along eyewitnesses, in terms of gathering primary information. Let’s be frank. That’s just not good form, and totally unscientific to boot. Take what people say as their experience of the animal being seen. Record it, ask more questions and [...]
Sasquatch Anatomy
A new article about Professor Jeff Meldrum’s investigations can be found in the December 2007 issue of Scientific American Magazine. The article involves the late Paul Freeman, and for more on Freeman, click here. Here’s a preview summary of the Scientific American Magazine article, from their website: One overcast Sunday morning in 1996, Jeffrey Meldrum and his brother drove to Walla Walla, Wash., to see if they could find Paul Freeman, a man renowned in Bigfoot circles as a source of footprint casts. Meldrum–who has followed Bigfoot lore since he was a boy–had heard that Freeman was a hoaxer, “so [...]
