I’ve already commented on the historical nature of the Malaysian reports of what is unfortunately being called a "Bigfoot." (Hey, what’s wrong with using the local name for this cryptid? Florida Frank Falls Flat Flinging Follies After the Tampa Tribune printed a relatively positive article touching on Cryptozoology and the work of cryptozoologist-educator Scott Marlowe, the very same Tampa Tribune decided to publish a highly opinionated, wrong-headed, rebuttal column by Frank Sargeant. King Kong’s CZ In-Joke
Went to see Peter Jackson’s incredible film King Kong. I’m not going to spoil it for anyone but there’s an inside humorous reference to a cryptozoological creature before King Kong is actually encountered by most of his pursuers. Someone had repeated to me that this cryptid was a recent beast (thus out of place in King Kong), as it turns out incorrectly. I was happy to see that King Kong quite correctly mentions a contemporary (1930s) cryptid. See if you can pick it out.

The New York Daily News on Sunday, December 11, 2005, published an article entitled "N.Y. king in Kong match," in which they included some cryptozoological commentary from a cryptozoologist supposedly named "Lore Croghan."
