Bigfoot! The True Story of Apes in America Here’s a new quiz that goes to the depths of your knowledge on Sasquatch and Bigfoot research. I’m joking, of course, for it is only ten questions long, but it is a good survey of some high points of your awareness of the field. It is more difficult than the previous quiz: Quiz – All About Hairy The same comment guidelines apply, as with the CZ IQ quiz. Please don’t ruin the intrigue and fun for people coming after you, even months from now. So, simple rules: You post any answers, proper [...]
Mohawk Mystery Animal Attack
Charles “Chaz” Kader , who is the Assistant Director of Public Information at New York’s St Regis Mohawk Tribe, has forwarded some developing news: Loren – Hello from the Mohawk Nation. If you recall, I sent you a heads-up on the Blackfeet Bigfoot evidence in Browning, Montana, last year. I am with the St Regis Mohawk Tribe now. This is not an official press release. I am passing this news item [seen above] along to you for review, as an item of interest as a courtesy. Published on 3/22/2007 in the local newspaper, Indian Time, is a front page story [...]
Do Cellphones Advance Cryptid Photography?
Remember what people said when little cameras showed up on mobile telephones? The notion was that with so many digital cameras out there on cellphones, there would be more chances to capture cryptids photograhically and visually, thus adding a new level of technology to the quest. Okay, for all those folks that wanted to have more cryptid photo images taken by cellphones, here, above, is what you get! As I walked out the door I thought “hang on a minute”. It looked like a cat but it was a lot bigger. It was definitely a cat. It walked like one [...]
New Beast of Bexley Encounter
The Richmond & Twickenham Times of Surrey, England is reporting there has been a new sighting of the big black panther of the area. Called the “Beast of Bexley,” the accounts of this panther have now spanned almost 20 years. Here’s an extract about the latest encounter: Beast of Bexley may have been spotted again reportedly scaring a paddock full of horses. Neil Arnold, founder of the Kent Big Cat Research Group, said a black creature was seen around two weeks ago in Cold Blow Crescent. He thinks the animal could have been a black leopard. An eyewitness saw all [...]
Badboy Beckjord Hangs Up
Well, early reports are that last night’s Squatchdetective Radio show was apparently a classic, alright. An absolute classic mess. Here’s a couple quick reactions posted today, followed up with emails, and reproduced here with the permission of the comment makers. It started an hour late. All I can say is, what a shame. Keep an eye on the Cryptomundo web site. I’m sure the results of the ten rounder will be posted there. There were no winners in this one. William Dranginis, Viriginia Bigfoot researcher I know all the gentlemen involved including Erik Beckjord. Steve Kulls was the host, Sean [...]
Ask EB Some Hard Questions
Remember the rumors about Erik Beckjord having cancer, and then some strange messages that he’s recovered? Was it all a plot to see how his critics would react? Surprise. None of us acted like he has regarding the misfortunes of others. So, still alive, on March 19, 2007, tonight, Erik Beckjord is appearing on Steve Kulls’ Squatchdetective Radio. The show’s guest is self-proclaimed genuis Erik Beckjord. Calling this show, “Take a Walk on the Wild Side Part II,” they are promoting the program by saying: It should come to [sic] no surprise, that some pretty amazing things he says are [...]
How Wallace Was Blamed For the Patterson Bigfoot Film
In 2002, this was labeled as a frame of film showing Elna Wallace reportedly inside this Bigfoot suit, or did a photo editor mixed up the old Ray Wallace footage with the old Ivan Marx fake Bigfoot footage to talk about the Patterson-Gimlin film? Of course, this was not the first time that newspapers confused their Bigfoot films, now was it? Mark Hall notes in his overview published here today, that in 2002, I brought to the attention of the Bigfoot community the media’s poor unfolding of Ray Wallace’s history. I stated especially newspapers were totally confusing the Wallace family’s [...]
Update: New Clouded Leopard
Of course, the media has gone wild and over-reached a bit in highlighting the “new species” discovery of the Borneo/Sumatra clouded leopard (Neofelis diardi) as such a remarkable find in many news articles. Indeed, the cat was there all the time, and has been “in the books” for 184 years. Of course, as has been mentioned within previous comments, I first talked about the reclassification of the two clouded leopards via this blog, on December 15, 2006, here: “Clouded Leopards: Two Species.” It is exciting to find something that’s been under our noses all the time, but let’s be realistic [...]
Bigfooters’ Wallace Problem
Mark A. Hall has written extensively on the question of Ray Wallace and his “footcasts.” The following 2003 article from his journal, Wonders is merely one of a number of such examinations, the most recent of which was published last year. Used by permission. The Bigfoot Community’s Wallace Problem by Mark A. Hall © 2003 The seekers of Bigfoot in the North American West have been unable to put the Wallace Problem behind them. At the end of 2002 the time had arrived to accept the meaning of the fake feet possessed by the heirs of Ray Wallace, a wealthy [...]
Meldrum Tapdances
In the current issue of TAPS Paramagazine on newsstands now and via mail (you can click on the ad to the right), you will find a new “Q and A” session with Dr. Jeff Meldrum about Bigfoot. Yes, I have the cover article on Sea Serpents plus a list-column on New England Lake Monsters, but what I wanted to really mention was the Meldrum article. I only learned about it after my issue came recently. Meldrum, of course, doesn’t “tapdance” in the traditional negative meaning, i.e. that he is avoiding topics. He dances about in fine form, as in cutting-a-rug [...]
