I think both videos have some good & bad things going:

*The vid with the Chinese video is more spectacular, but the behavior is so… Unsquatch-like? How many times we’ve heard of witnesses claiming that when spotted, Bigfoot will quietly retreat. This thing is doing its business unmindful of all the noisy people pointing cameras at it?

Also, where are the witnesses? where are the rest of all those videos?

*The vid with the Bigfoot in the mountains is less impressive, because we really can’t detect much detail. Having said that, if this was a hoax then someone took A LOT of effort in pulling it off.

Finally, re. Legend Tracker: I don’t think the app has the capacity to ‘insert’ Bigfoot behind background foliage. I think you need a clearing, and Bigfoot would always appear in the foreground. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

    Greetings all,

John Kirk and I spoke directly to the Legend Tracker people at an event we were speaking at last year. They were very keen at the time to get access to our expertise but we never heard back from them.

The Legend Tracker app is ultimately about getting deals or freebies from local businesses while you roam around trying to locate Sasquatch, or Ogopogo, etc in augmented reality. The app itself is well-designed but lacking in content and user base… these videos are a weak attempt at getting some more interest in the app, IMHO.

Could be anything. Though the fact that some folks who stand to make some money from “Bigfoot” are involved leads me to a knee-jerk reaction of “C’Mon!”

Just say that if we accept the Patterson film Sasquatch as the holotype for this species then we would expect other members of this taxa to have a similar appearance.

The sasquatch in the PG film has very defined lower legs muscles, particularly the gastrocnemius. You can see clearly that Patty’s leg tapers towards the ankles like human legs do.

The problem with the sasquatches in both the Legend Tracker videos is that their legs show no tapering whatsoever. They look like they are wearing furry pants. To me this is a sign that what we are seeing is not sasquatch.

As Adam says above, we talked to the Legend Tracker people last year and they seemed nice enough. However I did not think personally that they were very cryptozoologically oriented and that this field of study was a means to an end rather than the focus.

I’m not convinced by either video. Neither one shows any behavioural traits we have seen in sasquatch through the eyes of real witnesses. Sasquatches are reticent and almost always leave when humans encroach. They don’t hang around and make a display of purposeless digging. In the second video the creature just seems to be doing a Seinfeld i.e. nothing.

I am sorry but they just don’t pass the acid or litmus test for me.
