The following is the overview of Ray Crowe’s Western Bigfoot Society (the WBS is no longer called the International Bigfoot Society) meeting of June 28, 2008, by the man who did the talking, Joseph “Joe” Beelart. So there will be no confusion by those chroniclers of this history, Beelart was interested in seeing these notes published and approached me. I agreed after an exchange of notes about some suggested grammar and clarification edits from my end that would be necessary for me to see this on Cryptomundo. You will note that Joe Beelart is one of the sources of the [...]
Bigfoot Massacre Hits Magazine
The blood of the Bigfoot “massacre theory” will flow from the pages of a magazine later this summer. Within a month or so, you will be able to read an article’s recounting of the “Bigfoot Massacre” fiasco in TAPS Paramagazine. The essay will be a 4000-word overview of the entire short history of this “theory,” the “speculation,” and the resulting reactions. For those historians of Bigfoot and Sasquatch matters, you may wish to look into obtaining a copy (see here) or a subscription (here) beginning with this issue. If you have a book or item that is Bigfoot-related, you might [...]
Healthwatch: The Horsemen of Sasquatchery
Peter von Puttkamer’s classic 1999 documentary, Sasquatch Odyssey: The Hunt for Bigfoot has brought into our everyday jargon a phrase well-known in today’s hominology, “The Four Horsemen of Sasquatchery.” They weren’t called the “Four Horsemen of Sasquatchery” because of the film. It is because of a drawing by my late friend Eric Devoreg. It first appeared on my wall…then on the cover of Ray Crowe’s Western Bigfoot Society’s newsletter a few years before the film. Eric was a student of Grover Krantz and became interested in Bigfoot because of his association with him. Sadly Eric died in his sleep at [...]
Seeking Sasquatch In New Books
New Bigfoot / Sasquatch books will be making it into bookstores and online soon. One is a revised, updated version of an earlier book by Robert Bartholomew and Paul Bartholomew on Eastern sightings of hairy unknown hominoids, newly entitled Bigfoot Encounters in New York & New England, published by Hancock House, 2008. Chris Murphy’s expanded revised book overviewing Sasquatch should be out soon too. Know the Sasquatch/Bigfoot is Murphy’s sequel and update to Meet The Sasquatch. Chris sends along some thoughts he’s been having about Bigfoot lately: “Footprints are an image of the bottom of a planted foot, that is [...]
Massacre At Bluff Creek: Saturday Talk
The Western Bigfoot Society of Oregon is announcing they will have a talk this coming Saturday, June 28th, by Joe Beelart who will explain his theory on “Massacre At Bluff Creek.” Beelart will base his ideas on recent photos released by MK Davis at the WBS meeting. The items he will be considering, among others, include an excavation, a pool of “blood”, and rifle marks on Patty. Guests are welcome. Specifics: Saturday June 28th 2008 ~ WBS Bigfoot Meeting Notice. An informal no-host dinner (good food) will precede talks with an opportunity to socialize at 6 pm, the talk will [...]
$400 Reward For $100 Bigfoot
There is a strong woman involved in this update to my earlier “Sasquatch Statue Stolen” posting. Nicole Hosack, the owner of Niki’s Quick Six is trying hard to get her hubbie’s Sasquatch back. She has created her own website with links ~ she left out Cryptomundo, humm ~ and a bit of new info. Her backstory about her husband’s and his friends’ early interest in hunting Bigfoot is interesting. Back in the late 1980′s and early 1990′s, during the age of hair bands and IROC Camaros, pegged jeans and grunge rock, a young Jared Hosack had a dream. That dream [...]
Skeptic Questions Patterson Bigfoot Tracks
Talking of the photographs above, the so-called “Bigfoot Skeptic” this month writes: These are the tracks that Patterson claimed the Bigfoot made from his famous 1967 film. Notice the toes. How smooth and perfectly shaped they are. Also notice that despite the deep impression of the foot, the only part of the toe that shows in the plaster is the round tips of the toe. No other part of the toe is seen in the deep plaster cast. This suggests that it was not made by an actual fleshly foot stepping down and putting weight down. Shouldn’t the toes smoosh [...]
What Is Yowie?
Allegedly, this is an artist’s impression of the Yowie. What is happening here? Are folks saying that the Yowie is nothing more than an Australian form of Bigfoot? What kind of beast is the Yowie? First, a little introduction to why I am asking… The Ray Wallace-created wooden tool, above, is compared with an often-published “Bigfoot” print, the Blue Creek track. Wallace’s hoaxed tracks have hurt the database of hominology, but they do not ultimately distract the field from the questions at hand. People still wonder about what is Bigfoot. (Dave Rubert photo of the wooden fake is used by [...]
Creature Creator’s Cryptids
The following is a guest blog from Miguel Romero, a.k.a Red Pill Junkie, and Cryptomundo appreciates his insights into this speciality topic: Electronic Arts (EA), one of the biggest developers of videogames in the world, is about to release the much anticipated Spore, created by Will Wright, the man behind the acclaimed SIMs titles that let gamers create and administer entire cities, or manage the lives and social interactions of customized virtual characters, also known as avatars. But Spore is a much more ambitious experience—which is one of the reasons it has taken so long to be developed—since the goal [...]
Snowshoe Sasquatch
An ad in from the Elkins, West Virginia’s The Inter-Mountain reads: SASQUATCH EVIDENCE: Areas of known Sasquatch activity have been located at Snowshoe Mountain. Interested parties can visit these locations by calling 877-441-4FUN. Thanks to Helen McGinnis for sharing this. She “called that number and learned where I can make room reservations or plan a conference. Not a word about Sasquatch.”
