Mt. Washington Conference Pix
Images are being sent in from last weekend’s Beyond Reality event at the beautiful Mount Washington Hotel at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.
Newsweek Nukes “Bigfoot Believers”
The national magazine begins with this: “These are hard times for Bigfoot believers, a human subspecies that includes a fairly hairy collection of fantasists, charlatans, grifters and fools.” The treatment certainly doesn’t look in the mirror.
Biscardi’s C2C Legacy: “I-Was-Hoodwinked”
I will be a guest on tonight’s Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, to react to today’s California news conference on the alleged Bigfoot body. I am actually hoping to heard some positive things out of that news conference. But this is all sounding so familiar, isn’t it? Oregon Bigfoot researcher Autumn Williams has done a rather good job of re-visiting Tom Biscardi’s 2005 fiasco over on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, here, complete with transcripts of some of what was said. One of the reasons my lorencoleman.com might have been targeted was to take out of [...]
The Windigo and The Beheading
Windigo can be the hairy hominoid, the cannibal giant, and the psychosis. The three are merging and swirling around in the recent story of the decapitation and eating of flesh on the Canadian Greyhound bus. The Windigo (also known as the Wendigo, Windago, Windiga, Witiko, Wihtikow, and numerous other variants) is an unknown hairy hominoid tied to the legends and folklore of First Nations people linked by the Algonquin languages. The Windigo is a bipedal hairy creature, equal to the Eastern Bigfoot, Stone Giant, or Marked Hominid in some classification systems, which is often said to have aggressive behaviors and [...]
Montauk Monster Hoax Claim A Hoax
In the wake of this summer’s biggest crypto-blockbuster, doesn’t it make sense that someone might try to turn it into a gold mine of publicity for their project? John Green and I were once talking about the Sasquatch mystery, and he said, there will always be people to rush in and say that they hoaxed this story or that one to get the attention and stake a claim to history. The Montauk Monster is a mundane little body that’s become a weekend wonder. The rush is on now, with this wee Montauk marvel, to be the first to say “they [...]
Colloque Européen de Cryptozoologie
An exciting cryptozoological conference is taking place in Europe in September. There will be rare appearance from Russia by Dr. Marie-Jeanne Koffmann and M. Michael Trachtengerts. Details are to be found in French and some English below.
Lost Weekend Rescued
Yep, perhaps it was the Montauk Monster, but something caused Cryptomundo to go down early in the pre-dawn A.M. on Saturday, August 2, 2008. It just was returned online. Cryptomundo is back and we don’t know why we were gone. What did you do with this time? I hope you all used it productively…perhaps shopping for Loch Ness water… Or picking up Bigfoot objects at flea markets. Of course, it was good time to catch up on the comics too. Or to ponder old cryptid photographs. No matter what, the news was still gathered, and I will catch you up [...]
Multiple Sightings of U.Md. Cougar
The Campus Cougar Alert of July 31st has been followed by more details of the sightings, through comments at Cryptomundo and media information. It couldn’t have wandered here on its own. And even if it could, they don’t come here….First we want to find and identify it, then get the proper people to trap and remove it. If it is a cougar, it doesn’t belong in our highly urbanized area. They’re not predatory, but it’s still not good to have a cougar running around. I have all my cameras pointed in that direction and all my officers looking for it. [...]
Kids & Cryptozoology: Alberta Style
I enjoy leading workshops with children, of course, because future cryptozoologists are out there. Recently, in Alberta, some kids got to attend a “dragons day camp.” While there, I spoke to them about cryptozoology on a Monday. Here I am, looking as if a wood bison is about ready to charge me. What’s so incredible about having so many taxidermy-available wood bison in one place is that the Royal Alberta Museum even has one in their children’s classroom. I was honored to be able to write “Cryptozoology” on the work board, as a wood bison graced the same space. Here’s [...]
