The blood of the Bigfoot “massacre theory” will flow from the pages of a magazine later this summer. Within a month or so, you will be able to read an article’s recounting of the “Bigfoot Massacre” fiasco in TAPS Paramagazine. The essay will be a 4000-word overview of the entire short history of this “theory,” the “speculation,” and the resulting reactions. For those historians of Bigfoot and Sasquatch matters, you may wish to look into obtaining a copy (see here) or a subscription (here) beginning with this issue. If you have a book or item that is Bigfoot-related, you might [...]
Biscardi Blows Fox Broadcast
Tom Biscardi, on the right, and his former friend, Tim McMillen, before Biscardi sued him. Tom Biscardi, on the right, with Mike Sells and Sells’ wife, before Sells died. Todd Neiss, with the American Primate Research Group, passes this breaking news along, moments ago: Tom Biscardi was just featured in Fox News this morning (6:25am – PST) with regard to an alleged Bigfoot sighting in the Catskills of New York. I have to say his interview was classic Biscardi…pathetic. At first, Biscardi said that he flew in [to the Catskills] last Thursday and had already gathered evidence. Then he stated [...]
South China Tiger Photos Fake
Late on Sunday, June 29, 2008, the Chinese news service Xinhua is confirming that the controversial photographs of a rare South China tiger (Panthera tigris amoyensis) in the wild are fake. Cryptomundo first discussed this news on October 14, 2007, and our readers knew what was what, right away. At Cryptomundo, the photos were declared a fakes on November 22, 2008. The photos were fabricated by farmer Zhou Zhenglong, Shaanxi Provincial government officials said on Sunday. Zhou, 54, from Zhenping county, claimed to have photographed the tiger with a digital camera on the afternoon of Oct. 3 last year, but [...]
Loren Coleman Talk, July 5, 2008
Fort Knox is a beautiful setting, about 2.5 hours drive north of Portland, Maine. I will give an hour long talk/Q&A at next weekend’s event there, usually outdoors with artifacts, props and exhibits from my museum. When not doing that, I’ll entertain questions about cryptozoology and Bigfoot at my display table, sign books you bring for me to autograph, and sell a few books. If in Maine, come stop by and chat. Here’s the official description from the old historic fort’s website: Paranormal & Psychic Faire, Fort Knox, Maine July 5th and 6th, 2008. Meet with people who believe in [...]
Champ Enthusiast Off To China
Cryptozoology will soon have another friend in China. Champ enthusiast, Winooski (Vermont) native and Brandeis University student Eli Harrington will leave Friday, June 27, 2008, for an eight-week internship at Voice of America’s Beijing bureau and will likely report on activities at the Summer Olympics. Maybe he’ll report on the Yeren too? Or those mysterious Chinese lake monsters, in his spare time? The opportunity came together quickly, Harrington said. Brandeis encourages internships and work experience, and one of his professors mentioned Harrington, 20, to a former colleague who worked for Voice of America. After a few phone interviews, he was [...]

$400 Reward For $100 Bigfoot
There is a strong woman involved in this update to my earlier “Sasquatch Statue Stolen” posting. Nicole Hosack, the owner of Niki’s Quick Six is trying hard to get her hubbie’s Sasquatch back. She has created her own website with links ~ she left out Cryptomundo, humm ~ and a bit of new info. Her backstory about her husband’s and his friends’ early interest in hunting Bigfoot is interesting. Back in the late 1980′s and early 1990′s, during the age of hair bands and IROC Camaros, pegged jeans and grunge rock, a young Jared Hosack had a dream. That dream [...]
Creature Creator’s Cryptids
The following is a guest blog from Miguel Romero, a.k.a Red Pill Junkie, and Cryptomundo appreciates his insights into this speciality topic: Electronic Arts (EA), one of the biggest developers of videogames in the world, is about to release the much anticipated Spore, created by Will Wright, the man behind the acclaimed SIMs titles that let gamers create and administer entire cities, or manage the lives and social interactions of customized virtual characters, also known as avatars. But Spore is a much more ambitious experience—which is one of the reasons it has taken so long to be developed—since the goal [...]
Bigfooter Bob Chance Indicted
The breaking news headline I read this morning was unbelievable, for two reasons: (1) I knew, very well, the person charged, and (2) the media decided to highlight the fact the individual is a “Bigfoot hunter.” The Examiner headline shouted out: “Bel Air Bigfoot hunter indicted on charges of making drugs,” for June 19, 2008, in an article by Matthew Santoni. Many readers here are familiar with his name. I’ve known Bob Chance for years, since we both were long distance correspondents and friends of Ivan T. Sanderson, back in the 1960s, the good ole days of the Society for [...]
Ohio's Grassmen
Thank goodness the ghosts are gone. It’s back to monsters this evening folks, so let’s celebrate. Tonight’s “MonsterQuest” is about the “Ohio Grassman,” one of the local names for the Eastern Bigfoot-types reported in this Midwestern state, a bona-fide cryptid. It also features good guy, well-known Ohio Bigfoot conference organizer and Cleveland Indians fan Don Keating. Don Keating describes a plaster casting he has in his collection from early 1991 for the History Channel’s program “MonsterQuest.” The casting is from a series of five footprints discovered near Newcomerstown. Photo provided by the History Channel Radio talk show host Tim Binnall [...]
