Thanks to Peter Loh, for a smiling peek at the cover of his forthcoming comic book about some recent adventures.

Nat Geo’s New Hominology Documentary
Recent speculation about National Geographic Channel making a new Bigfoot documentary in West Virginia is groundless. National Geographic Channel’s production team was there recently to do some spot re-creations of events that took place decades ago in East Asia, not about classic Bigfoot, but regarding Almas. I’ve been in communication with them for some time, as hominologist Adam Davies’ expedition to Mongolia in search of Almas was being planned and then being filmed. Now they are doing end-of-the-production tidbits with the re-creations. On March 16, 2006, I exclusively wrote about this documentary here at Cryptomundo. Click to see a larger-sized [...]
Sun Journal: Creature Looks Like A Canine
Click on image for full-size version Photograph by Michelle O’Donnell. Used by permission. The body of the dead animal found in Turner, Maine, according to DNA tests conducted on behalf of and paid for by the Lewiston newspaper, the Sun Journal, belonged to a member of the genus Canis, not a Tasmanian devil, not a rodent, not a Chupacabras, not a hyena, not a werewolf, not an Eastern Bigfoot, and/or not from any wild species speculations that were heard over the last ten days. Nevertheless, it is important to understand, the real Mystery Beast is still out there! Readers of [...]
Ogopogo Photo Reward
$500 Reward Offered for Picture of Sea Serpent Monster With Sheep’s Head Often Seen in Okanogan Lake, British Columbia. Okanogan, Wash. [sic] — With a standing offer of $500 for a snapshot of the strange creature noticed repeatedly in Okanogan lake, across the line to Canada, local residents and many adventurers are living along the shores watching daily for the expected appearance of Ogopogo, as Indians have designated the monster. The sea serpent report emanating from the northern lake is not a fairy tale, for affidavits of well known people are on file at Vernon, B.C., to prove they observed [...]
Mystery Fish Continues
With so many new people here, it’s time to check in with an old favorite of Cryptomundo. The Mystery Fish postcard, first noted here on November 29, 2005, has never been identified, as to exact location or species. Several thousand new readers have found their way to Cryptomundo since November, so here’s a quick revisit to that photographic mystery. (Click on image to see full size version, enhanced by shockbeton) Due to research on the type of postcard it is, there was a determination, thanks to Cryptomundo readers, that this specific item would have been produced between 1904-18. The location [...]
Orang Dalam Appearances
Slowly, recovery does happen. Overcoming the hoax of the drawings, the false anticipation, and then finally the fake photos of the “johor hominid” occurs. It is surely time to move on, and get back to venturing forward with a critical look at the imagery of possibly real hominoids in the rainforest of Malaysia. What are your thoughts on how people have represented the Orang Dalam? The Harry Trumbore illustration (above) of the Orang Dalam places the hominoid within the True Giant classification, and is taken from The Field Guide of Bigfoot and Other Mystery Primates, 2006. Here is the Serjarang [...]
Gorillas In Our Midst
A 19th Century illustration of Paul du Chaillu confronting a gorilla in Africa. Why would early newspapers in the United States use the term "gorilla" so frequently in the late 1800s when a large, hairy anthropoid was seen in nearby hollows and hills? Simply put, gorillas during that time were rather closely tied to American explorers’ discoveries and American journalistic interest in others’ adventures with the apes. I’m not for the source of all of the confusion and challenges among Bigfoot researchers and/or those making comments at Cryptomundo about whether or not "gorilla" was used as a way to describe [...]
Mastodons Alive!
Mastodons Still Living This mastodon (Mammut americanum) is the life-sized bronze representation at the Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, the home of the “Mastodons.” Alaska Indians Claim They Have Seen Them Running About. The Stickeen Indians positively assert that within the last five years they have frequently seen animals which, from the descriptions given, must have been mastodons. Last spring, while out hunting, one of the Indians came across a series of large tracks, each the size of the bottom of a salt barrel, sunk deep in the moss. He followed the curious trail for some miles, finally coming out [...]
Stovepipe Hat Bigfoot?
Some folks at the Pine Ridge Reservation say there are two separate things being seen. A Bigfoot and a Tall Man or Big Man. Could there be an overlap in reports? This is the Harry Trumbore illustration from The Field Guide of Bigfoot and Other Mystery Primates (p. 45) of Pitt Lake, BC’s "Sasquatch" seen in June 1965. Could eyewitnesses of some Bigfoot at Pine Ridge be misintreprating the head shape of these creatures for a stovetop hat? And what are we to make of reports of the "Big Man" with a cape? Reports of Bigfoot stealing shirts and pants [...]
