Our excitement was so intense, as we saw the way to Solomon’s treasure chamber thrown open at last, that I for one began to tremble and shake. Would it prove a hoax after all, I wondered, or was old Da Silvestra right? Were there vast hoards of wealth hidden in that dark place, hoards which would make us the richest men in the whole world?H. Rider Haggard, King Solomon’s Mines. It’s time to bring out the silver bullets. Okay, Cryptomundo will stop ignoring the Gable Film, and take up the hunt. Since September 24, I’ve tried to get some straight [...]
A Closer Look at the P-G Footage?
Finally, a possible solution to the Patterson-Gimlin footage? Let’s move in closer. At least we are trying to keep our sense of humor. Merci Jean luc Drevillon
“Sassafrass” Sasquatch Squashed
I suppose people think this is cute or funny, by now. Sorry, I don’t agree. Indeed, I am tired of all this video trash posted as nonfiction film clips. It’s one thing to have a cryptofictional movie you want to promote, and it’s another thing to keep floating parts of it out there to confuse the general public, including teenagers, who are watching YouTube. Anyway, in the latest intellectual assault like this, Bigfoot Bubba has posted a new video as real, labeling it “Bigfoot Sighting at Sassafrass Ridge Authenticated.” He writes: “Recently discovered Film Footage ditigally restored and colorized as [...]
Yeti Track Photos Sold
As a followup to my earlier blog about the auction of the Shipton-Ward Yeti footprint photographs, the final bids are in. Boing Boing’s David Pescovitz blogs today of the outcome of auction. “This 1951 photograph of a purported Yeti footprint was auctioned off at Christie’s London for £3,500. Eric Earle Shipton took the photograph in the Himalayas,” writes Pescovitz. That amount equals US $7082.25. It is unknown who purchased the set of Yeti photos (as there were four, not just the one famous photograph), at this time. It is worth noting, in typical British wording, they had been “THE PROPERTY [...]
From Russia, With Love: New Snowman Photo
Thanks to Cryptomundo correspondent Oleg who lives in the Urals, the actual photograph that goes with the blog written in August (completely reproduced below) is posted here, for the first time. The correct Snowman photograph is now here, to revise the earlier confusing mix of a compelling story and a mismatched fake photograph. What do you think of the image, folks? At the bottom is the fake photo that was placed, originally on the German site, with the Ural Snowman sighting info. ++++++ The Russian newspaper Volkhov reported in March 2006 about Nikolaj Avdeev’s field work in the southern Urals.1 [...]
Spanish Search for Black Panther
Native, wild “black panthers” are not suppose to exist on the Iberian Peninsula, Europe. Mijas is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, in Andalusia, in southern Spain. La Cala de Mijas is a separate village and tiny resort by the sea to the west. Word comes from that location of a new melanistic mystery cat search. The hunt is on for a large black panther spotted by a member of the public in a park near the Los Claveles residential estate in La Cala de Mijas at around 7pm last night. Since then, three other people have [...]
Vietnam’s Lost World: 11 More New Species
Eleven new species, including a snake and two butterflies, have been discovered in a remote region of Vietnam known as the ‘Green Corridor’, the WWF reveals Wednesday. Five orchids and three other plants make up the rest of the haul of species new to science. They all appear to be unique to Vietnam’s Annamites mountain range. Ten other plant species, including four orchids, are being examined to check whether they are also new to science. The area in Thua Thien Hue province is already renowned among conservationists following the discovery of several new large mammal species in the 1990s. “You [...]
A Near Death Experience
Today, September 25, 2007, marks 728 weeks or over 5100 days since I almost died. On this date in 1993, I was free-climbing a rocky cliff in Maine, slipped on some talus, and fell back, straight down, about 40 feet. I landed on some rocks and caused my lumbar 1 to completely implode. As one of my doctors said, “You didn’t break your back; your vertebra burst.” I was told later that such a rock climbing accident could have killed me. Maybe it was the Yeti shirt I was wearing, or my sons that kept me alive, but the two [...]
Mothman 2008
While nothing will ever match the David Grabias 2002 documentary Search for the Mothman, now bundled in the Deluxe DVD/The Mothman Prophecies, production companies keep cranking out ones filled with interviews with old eyewitnesses. Of course, there is no footage of Mothman, so they all are following the same path here. Black River Films has a new doc in production, and you can get a preview of its beginning at their site. The number of documentaries specifically for television about Mothman also continues to increase. News of an another being taped in Mothman country for the 2008 season is noted [...]
