Cory Doctorow reminds me that today, June 6th, is the 75th anniversary of when the world’s first drive-in movie theater opened in Camden, New Jersey, in 1933. In the Fall 2007 issue of TAPS Paramagazine, I wrote two articles about Bigfoot drive-in movies, and recommend those overviews to you. Seljord Serpent Filmed: Blobdracontology?
Selma, the so-called “Sea Serpent” that lives in Lake Seljord (Seljordsvatnet) obviously would have to be a Lake Monster, akin to the Loch Ness Monster. The location is near the inland town of Seljord, a municipality in the county of Telemark, Norway. Carl Diehl’s Metaphortean Space nicely adds a shiny chrome, intellectually-friendly frame around his insights into “blogsquatching”: An interface is typically designed to make the new domain easier for a “user” to comprehend. Meanwhile, $50,000 For Pepie
Bushnell may be putting out there a million dollars for a Bigfoot trail camera photograph, but there are lesser goals available. In Minnesota, the Lake City Tourism Bureau has offered a $50,000 reward for hooking, netting or capturing on a camera a large, serpentlike creature living in the Mississippi River’s Lake Pepin below Maiden Rock.
