Yes, Austrian, not Australian, kangaroos are in the news. According to an Associated Press report, one was seen leaping down a Tyrol province highway during October 2006. But on October 11, law enforcement officials explained to the public this was an alleged September escapee from an enclosure in the village of Volders. At least, that is the police statement. The uncaught kangaroo is still at large. Reportedly, in March, 2006, a kangaroo was encountered in southern Austria. A local veterinarian using a stun gun captured it. Then a Tyrol wild animal breeder came forth, saying it was his. Humm. These [...]
Yeti Jacket
Hey, I want one of those as a gift for the holidays, don’t you? David Pescovitz mentions a great new piece of cryptozoology outerwear to add to anyone’s wish list. David writes at Boing Boing: This amazing track jacket embroidered with Tim Biskup’s Yeti illustration is part of his Gama-Go collection for Fall. It’s $78 and I am so deeply saddened that it doesn’t come in XXL to fit my Sasquatch frame. Thank goodness the Gama-Go collection has a soft but durable, fieldworthy but comfortably-sized X-L with good lines to fit me! (My apologies to anyone that didn’t see that [...]
Arcturus Cryptozoology Books
Looking for a rare Keel title? A paperback from the 1970s demonstrating that era’s view of Bigfoot? An oldie but a goodie? Trying to pick up a scarce cryptozoology book? Bob Girard has been selling used books for years, and now does it from Port St. Lucie, Florida. If you want to keep the good books in this world, you have to support those booksellers that aren’t afraid to sell them. Therefore, we have to support, for example, Arcturus Books. Here’s a sample below of items you can email him about, and see if he still has it in stock. [...]
Almas Skull Sample?
Mark A. Hall alerts Cryptomundo to a new dispatch out of Russia, “Moscow Hominologist gives bone sample to the USA for investigation”. It appears to be from the skull of an alleged Almas’ relative, Khwit. Click the Richard Klyver’s Almas drawings, above, for a larger view. According to the Russian newspaper Komsomolskaja Pravda, Igor Burtsev was invited to the USA(1). There, he will deliver a bone sample of a skull to a “laboratory for the Genetics of the Neanderthals of the New York University” for analysis. Burtsev found this skull in the 70s during an excavation while he was looking [...]

On December 5 and 7, 2005, Cryptomundo scooped the mainstream media with some analytical insights of the following Borneo photographs and the probable identification of the animal in the photographs. As this has surfaced again with regard to "new mammals" discoveries, and there are so many new Cryptomundo readers, here are those first postings on this mystery animal find. What do you think this looks like? There is exciting news out of Borneo. A new red-furred animal larger than a domestic cat has reportedly been discovered on this remote island of Indonesia. Crypto Rescue
Do something good today. Help out a member of our community get back up on his feet! This is not about me. But I empathize. Living the life of a cryptozoologist, on the edge of survival, is not easy and is no joke. I think we all have are own personal stories of struggle. People think I am joking when I talk about money problems, because people have a fantasy that if you are an author or a retired university instructor you’re rich. I’ve experienced it all personally, this life on the edge, and yet make a choice to hold [...]
New Mammal Found In Europe
The Times of London’s Science Editor Mark Henderson documents the following startling news, here from the article, in part: A new mammal species — thought to be the first discovered in Europe for more than a century — has been identified by a scientist based at the University of Durham. The grey mouse, found in Cyprus by Thomas Cucchi, has been confirmed as an entirely new species by genetic tests, overturning the widespread assumption that Europe had no mammals left to be discovered. Dr Cucchi, who is French, was working on the Mediterranean island studying mouse teeth from the Stone [...]
Sci Fi Investigates Begins
“Sci Fi Investigates” goes on the air for the first time on October 11, 2006. Boston Rob “plays the skeptic.” Rob Mariano told Boston Herald reporter Amy Amatangelo, during an interview, the following: To tell you the truth, at first I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be involved because it’s not something I was really interested in. But after I talked to [the producers], they told me I could be myself and play the skeptic and basically give my point of view as I saw it. Then it became a lot more appealing to me. And I have to [...]
Mary Green Goes Ballistic
On Tuesday, October 10, 2006, Cryptomundo began to receive emails from Mary Green demanding that a photograph that was reprinted here from a Will Duncan posting – which supported Duncan’s pro-Carter farm position – be removed from our site. It has now been removed. Allow me to share the background and emails regarding this exchange. As can be seen in these emails, Mary Green has given her permission for these emails to be posted fully so you all can see what an evil person I am. Intriguingly, her call for the photograph to be taken down has ended up censoring [...]
Cast Sale: Seekers Change Tune
The UK’s Telegraph is putting a new spin on the reason behind the selling of the Johor Bigfoot cast. Reporter Sebastien Berger in Lukut writes in an article entitled “Explorer hopes plaster cast will raise funds to search for Bigfoot,” in part: In the jungle of southern Malaysia, where legends of a giant man-ape echo along with the calls of forest wildlife, a plaster cast of a huge footprint is precious evidence. Syed Abdullah Alattas, the founder of Paranormal Seekers Malaysia, found the footprint outside Lukut, in Johor. But it is difficult to raise enough cash to help prove the [...]
