Blake Mathys has been a Bigfoot researcher for decades, from his days of being in the woods of the Midwest, investigating as a kid growing up in Ohio. Currently, he is studying for his Ph. D. in wildlife biology. As I write this, he is presently on his sixth trip to Bermuda, collecting further data on the native birds from that island for his dissertation. Blake Mathys shares his following “Six Rules of Bigfoot Research” for feedback and critiques. Six Rules of Bigfoot Research The following “Six Rules of Bigfoot Research” are meant to improve the quality of the evidence [...]
New Mt. Hood Mystery Photo
Click on image for full size version As the code tells anyone, this photograph was taken on June 7, 2007, at 7:11 p.m. by the same people who have had some luck with pictures from this same location. What do you think this latest trailcam image shows? I have some ideas, but I don’t want to bias anyone’s looking at this with an open mind. Before this new photo, the one before showed a close encounter of the elk kind. See these below to compare with the new one above, and the original “Bigfoot mystery” photo (at the bottom), which, [...]

Men of Cryptozoology: Chad Arment
Chad Arment (1972 – ) is the creator and moderator of the first specifically cryptozoology email list, founder of a publishing company, and author/editor/publisher of cryptozoology books. His interest in cryptozoology began in the fourth grade when he read Marian Place’s On the Track of Bigfoot (Dodd Mead, 1974). He casually studied the subject until high school, then began actively to investigate reports of unusual animals wherever he was living. Specific cryptids he has tracked include a mystery cougar, giant snakes, and an unknown hairy biped, all in Maryland, and a mystery cat in Ohio. Chad Arment self-published a pamphlet [...]
New Johor Bigfoot Book
Sin Chew Daily journalist Lee Hoy Chin has written a new book Johor Bigfoot: The Beginning of the True Story after covering eyewitness accounts on the creature. The book is reported to be a compilation of newspaper reports on Bigfoot and other details not published in newspapers. Many people are searching for the truth about Bigfoot and I hope this book can help them learn about the subject better. Many may argue that Bigfoot is just a superstition but I hope this book will pave the way for more research on the topic. – Lee Hoy Chin The drawings from [...]
New Indian “Bigfoot” Reports
A researcher measures a footprint thought to be that of “Bigfoot.” Villagers in Garo hills claim to have sighted mythical giant “Gigantic, hairy, ape-like…” was all that Abu Marak could utter in between gasps for breath. Surrounded by villagers in the safety of his house near Durabanda in the West Garo Hills, Abu’s eyes still mirrored the excitement of spotting the animal. Within a few days, Abu’s account, coupled with those of a few other villagers, became the raw material for a renewed scientific search for the legendary Bigfoot — mande burung in Garo. Survey: Almost 60% Say Sasquatch Unsnatchable
The Anomalist today published their analysis of the survey results from 449 people who filled out a web-based questionnaire that took 15 to 30 minutes to complete in March. You can read “Anomalists Are No Longer An Anomaly,” by clicking here. (Note to the survey’s author: In strict research analysis protocol, the questions that were the basis of the analysis should be published as part of the article. The survey, per se, is not visible as an appendix or attachment to this analysis.) First and foremost, these kinds of surveys make me uncomfortable. The survey number is small, and the [...]
Yeti Hunter’s Involved Brother Dies
Earl F. Slick, 86, whose brother will forever be tied to Yeti, died on May 13, 2007, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The family delayed a public announcement until after services and his burial. He is shown above in the 1940s, with a model of one of the air freight carriers in his then-new company. Earl F. Slick was the brother of Tom Slick, the millionaire adventurer and Yeti hunter of the 1950s and early 1960s. Earl served as a pilot in World War II, and was linked to the famed Flying Tigers that transported cargo across the Himalayas during the [...]
When Seeing Is Not Believing?
This is a short and stunning demonstration, by skeptic and psychologist Dr Richard Wiseman, that underlines the degree to which expectation can badly distort eyewitness perception — even under clear, well-lit, near-optimal viewing conditions.Daniel Loxton
Update: New Skamania Tubesquatch
An email request for more information regarding this video brought the following reply from the person who uploaded it at youtube. The film was made on Memorial day, which was on a Monday, May 28, 2007 sometime in the afternoon, possibly around 3 & 5:00. This happened at Beacon Rock State Park in Washington that weekend. I was several miles deep on a horse trail when I heard branches breaking to the left of me. In the vicinity of the sound, there was a burning tar smell mixed with what reminded me of rancid milk. This caused me to follow [...]
