Alleged Lies, Loud Complaining, and Lots of Siberian Yeti Claims

The hair samples of the Siberian Yeti ended up showing nothing, and now claims that hundreds of Snowmen are living in the countryside of Siberia are being heard.

This is a Siberian story I steered away from at the beginning, for we have seen in the past that Jeff Meldrum was manipulated, initially, to assist the local tourism in this same region.

Now, as this tale unwinds, nothing better is happening.

Let me make it clear – [Professor Valentin] Sapunov is blatantly lying. He came with some bits of hair to the Institute, and spent a lot of time in my office complaining that official science wants nothing to do with it and no-one wants to test them. He asked me to help. I took a pity on him and ordered our DNA specialists to carry out a test. They did not manage to extract any genealogical material because there were no hair bulbs. The structure of the hair showed that they could have belonged to a goat, and a bear, and to other animals. That’s the end of it. What Snowman is he talking about? Oleg Pugachev

This Siberian Snowman (illustrated above), which was individually named Mecheny by the eyewitnesses, is from Loren Coleman’s and Patrick Huyghe’s The Field Guide to Bigfoot and Other Mystery Primates.
