Comedian Tim Cameron at Cracked.com has set out to name the most outrageous “creatures,” which I guess we might assume could include a cryptid or two. His new list is entitled the “Weirdest Mythical Creatures in the World,” and I thought I’d share the essence of his gathering. Despite the profanity-injected narrative, which I found sometimes not-too-funny and distracting, the compilation was worthy of a look, as Cameron pointed to some overlooked alleged beasts. The creative list with a few of Cameron’s quoted but edited comments, without his “how to kill” them conclusions, is below. I truly did find the [...]
Gilroy Associate Announces Tracks
Rex Gilroy’s earlier Karumba, Australia, track find. An individual only identifying himself as “ausiepath9,” who serves as a spokesperson for the Gilroys of Australia, is posting around the web that “Fresh Moa Tracks” have been discovered in New Zealand. This associate shares this week that “Rex and Heather have returned from New Zealand and have many new discoveries to show” in the future, including “the Moa tracks Rex discovered.” Ausiepath9 relates that a “few years back” Rex Gilroy “discovered a small scrub Moa track(s) [sic] up-to 20 in leaf-mould..of which two were cast.” But the latest tracks are apparently different: [...]

Chicago Cougar Video
The story of the cougar killed in Chicago, detailed here yesterday, was documented by the visual news organizations. Here’s the video. The crowd of onlookers included representatives of the media.
Cougar Killed in Chicago
“Cougars don’t exist in Illinois,” we have all been told for years, especially before two 21st century incidents began to alert people to the notion eyewitnesses seeing the cats weren’t crazy. “They are extinct in the state,” officialdom still claimed. Now, beyond belief, a cougar or puma or mountain lion, whatever you wish to call it, has been killed on the North Side of Chicago on April 14, 2008. Obtaining an actual body is the ultimate proof, of course. The Chicago Tribune’s photographer Candice C. Cusic snapped the images on Monday, which sum up the story (below), from the felid [...]
No “Bigfeet” Discovered
It is good to know that the legacy of Cryptomundo is assisting the literary world of Oregon’s Portland Mercury. Courtney Ferguson writes today about his search for whether “Bigfeet” is the correct word to use: After spending 10 minutes searching for the proper plural form of Sasquatch, I grew impatient. Was it Sasquatches? Could I use Bigfeet? Or was it a murder of Sasquatch? Finding little in the way of information on the New York Times site (two instances of Sasquatches) and absolutely nothing in the Chicago Manual of Style, I encountered this cryptid site! cryptomundo.com Eureka! Within cryptozoology, North [...]
