Small Pterodactyls Among The Indians

You would think the recent baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians had a chapter in it snatched straight from a cryptozoological book. During the game, insects bothered, to no end, the infielders and pitcher Joba Chamberlain for the Yankees, but less so, it seems the Indians. The bugs remain cryptid. The reaction to them, however, has been remarkable. Big bad Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens was so horrified by the insect invasion he told the media Saturday at Yankee Stadium: “I would have probably pulled us off the field.” The insects were filmed, could have been [...]

Mystery Animal Attacks Horse

Troopers in Fredonia [New York] are looking into a report that an unknown wild animal attacked an Arabian horse around 11 pm Thursday night [September 27, 2007]. Investigators say the horse suffered numerous bite and claw marks in the attack in a pasture on Harmon Hill Road in the town of Pomfret. The animal was treated by a local vet and is expected to be ok. Local residents are urged to call the state police at Fredonia with information about this or any future sightings or incidents with large non-domestic animals. by Greg Borowski, Producer, “State Police Investigating Attack On [...]

Soviet Hominologists Were Right: Siberian Neandertals

Palaeoarchaeological findings appear to be catching up to hominology, the segment of cryptozoology studying unknown hominoids. For some time, a few of us have studied various reports of what might be surviving Neandertals* in Siberia and China. Whether called Mecheny, Mirygdy, Chuchunaa, Mulen, or Wildmen, some Soviet Snowmen Commission scientists and a few Chinese in the last century theorized we might be dealing with relict populations of Neandertals. Especially intriguing are the Chuchunaa, the often clothed, eastern version of the Mirygdy, seen in Eastern Siberia. (Perhaps further research will also show the fossil Neandertals were a bit larger in their [...]

Mystery Cat Investigator Dies

Word has reached Cryptomundo of the death of one of the major Midwestern figures researching the question of the reality of pumas existing in Missouri. Dave Hamilton (left), Missouri Conservation Department Resource wildlife biologist, is showing examining a 105 pound puma found killed on Highway 54 shortly before midnight August 11, 2003, near Fulton, Missouri. Discovery of dark spots on its flanks and hindquarters, and barring on the inside of its front legs caused Hamilton to change his mind from this being an older puma to a finding it was a year-and-half or year old animal. The Fulton animal was [...]

Hobbit Wrists and Jurassic Feathers

A comparison of wrist bones like those found in the “hobbit” human (left) and those of a modern human suggest that the diminutive hominin is a unique species, scientists say. Image © Science It is one of those busy news days, especially in terms of fossil updates. The two big fossil discovery news items are primate and aves related, and of interest to Cryptomundo. One is the new Science report that a study of the wrist bones of Homo floresiensis confirms it is a new species, and not an abnormal human. The other finding is that there were feathers on [...]
