The following is the overview of Ray Crowe’s Western Bigfoot Society (the WBS is no longer called the International Bigfoot Society) meeting of June 28, 2008, by the man who did the talking, Joseph “Joe” Beelart. So there will be no confusion by those chroniclers of this history, Beelart was interested in seeing these notes published and approached me. I agreed after an exchange of notes about some suggested grammar and clarification edits from my end that would be necessary for me to see this on Cryptomundo. You will note that Joe Beelart is one of the sources of the [...]
In Search of Thylacine Replicas
Matthew Bille, author of Shadows of Existence and other books, approached me with a question over the weekend, which I have seriously pondered often: Where are the Thylacine replicas? Does no one produce affordable, hard-plastic, scale-model, museum-quality representations of the Thylacine (a.k.a. Tasmanian Tiger)? Does not Thylacinus cynocephalus, the wolf-headed pouched dog, one of the celebrities of extinct animals thought to be a living cryptid, deserve a replica? Such replicas are helpful in lectures, exhibitions, and educational demonstrations about well-known and often-mentioned current or recent cryptid expeditions and research. Where are the Thylacine models? Surely, it would be as popular [...]
Bigfoot Massacre Hits Magazine
The blood of the Bigfoot “massacre theory” will flow from the pages of a magazine later this summer. Within a month or so, you will be able to read an article’s recounting of the “Bigfoot Massacre” fiasco in TAPS Paramagazine. The essay will be a 4000-word overview of the entire short history of this “theory,” the “speculation,” and the resulting reactions. For those historians of Bigfoot and Sasquatch matters, you may wish to look into obtaining a copy (see here) or a subscription (here) beginning with this issue. If you have a book or item that is Bigfoot-related, you might [...]

Bigfooter Outfoxed
With reference to Tom Biscardi on Fox News mentioned here, the following is the YoubTube appearance of this moment in history: Thanks to A. Higgins for the heads up.
Biscardi Blows Fox Broadcast
Tom Biscardi, on the right, and his former friend, Tim McMillen, before Biscardi sued him. Tom Biscardi, on the right, with Mike Sells and Sells’ wife, before Sells died. Todd Neiss, with the American Primate Research Group, passes this breaking news along, moments ago: Tom Biscardi was just featured in Fox News this morning (6:25am – PST) with regard to an alleged Bigfoot sighting in the Catskills of New York. I have to say his interview was classic Biscardi…pathetic. At first, Biscardi said that he flew in [to the Catskills] last Thursday and had already gathered evidence. Then he stated [...]
Hawks, Not Parrots, On The Attack
No doubt upset by the recent DNA study saying that their former cousins the falcons are more closely related to parrots than to them, a pair of red-tailed hawks attacked a Cape Cod, Massachusetts, woman on Monday, June 30, 2008. First it was an alligator at nearby Barnstable, on Cape Cod, and now attacking hawks. Cape Cod is turning into a hot bed of weird animal news this summer. Perhaps a Sea Serpent sighting will occur any day now? Seriously, I would ask Cape Cod-located cryptozoologists-in-training to keep an eagle eye (no pun intended) out for more unusual animal stories [...]
Chimp Loose In San Bernardino National Forest
Moe the chimp, 31 1/2 years old, “cries” and seeks comfort from long time friend of the family after being shot twice with a tranquilizer on August 16, 1998. The chimp got out from his owners home and roamed the neighgorhood before being tranquilized. Moe, a 42-year-old chimpanzee who grew up in suburbia until being forced to live in an animal sanctuary, was believed to be at large in a Southern California forest Monday after escaping his cage. Animal handlers were combing the San Bernardino National Forest about 50 miles east of Los Angeles. “We think he may be hunkered [...]
New Crayfish Species Discovery
In 2005, a new species of crayfish, Cambarus (Tubericambarus) polychromatus (the painted-hand mudbug) was described by Roger Thoma, Raymond Jezerinac and Thomas Simon in volume 118 issue 2 of the Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington. Specifically, the cited journal article is: Thoma R.F., Jezerinac, R.F., and Simon, T. P. 2005. “Cambarus (Tubericambarus) polychromatus (Decapoda: Cambaridae), a new species of crayfish from the United States. Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington 118(2):326-336. Now, this new species has been identified from southern Illinois, according to the US Forest Service’s Mike Welker on June 30, 2008: The Cambarus polychromatus, commonly [...]
Wild Bears vs Humans
As some kind of joke, an internet wag called Evil Melon has posted that, “Some cryptozoologist is making bizarre claims that the mythical creature known as a ‘bear’ has attacked a girl riding in a 24 hour bike race….Bears are loveable trained creatures who do not live in the wild, do not steal pickernick baskets and do not maul human beings. This is a claim that must be debunked. The wild bear does not exist.” Not funny. Not happening. More ridicule for cryptozoologists, even for those of us who happen to have an incredible sense of humor. In a minute, [...]
