Congratulations to The Long Way Home: A Bigfoot Story, produced, written and directed by James “Bubba” Cromer of Columbia, South Carolina, for winning big honors in the Big Apple.
In New York City, on Friday, April 17, 2007, The Long Way Home: A Bigfoot Story won “Best Narrative Feature” for the entire New York International Independent Film & Video Festival 2007.
As a reminder, this is a movie about a reporter (played by Cromer) for the Miami Herald who tries to resurrect his failing career by catching a Bigfoot (or won’t it be a Skunk Ape?). In the past, Craig posted the trailer here.
Cromer has emailed to Cryptomundo, “This flick is the product of over 1500 hours of work by me. I had three different camera guys. Three editors. And an all-volunteer cast….It is truly a ‘first feature’ in every sense of the word!…The premier in my hometown of Columbia was standing room only in two venues. We were humbled and thrilled.”
Below is a new, never-before shown selection from the film, highlighting the reporter (James “Bubba” Cromer) interviewing the Sheriff (played by Cromer’s real father, J. Lewis Cromer), about a Bigfoot attack on a young woman around those parts. (Please remember this is a narrative fiction film, not a documentary.)
