On Saturday, August 20, 2011, around noon, the International Cryptozoology Museum was visited by famed illustrator Steve Bissette, monster and ghost author Joe Citro, and Massachusetts newspaper editor Mike Dobbs. Sorry you missed them. It was a great visit.

Many copies of Loren Coleman’s books (Mysterious America, Cryptozoology A to Z, and Bigfoot!) have arrived for sale at the ICM, to support the museum in its upcoming move to a larger space. Bissette, Dobbs, and Citro obtained copies and some ICM teeshirts, as well.

Vermonter Stephen R. Bissette is an American comics artist, editor, and publisher who is best known for working with writer Alan Moore and inker John Totleben on the DC comic Swamp Thing in the 1980s and most recently, out of retirement, to work with author Joseph Citro, illustrating the covers and pages of The Vermont Ghost Guide and Vermont Monster Guide.

Vermonter Joseph A. Citro is an author and folklorist. Occasionally referred as the “Bard of the Bizarre” or “the Ghost-Master General,” he has extensively researched and documented the folklore, hauntings, ghost stories, creature sightings, paranormal activity and occult happenings of New England. His Curious New England: The Unconventional Traveler’s Guide to Eccentric Destinations (2003) with Diane Foulds, was the first book to mention the new-at-the-time International Cryptozoology Museum.

Joe’s newest book is Vermont Haunts: Tall Tales & True from the Green Mountains, which has been released only as an ebook. Some crypto-related and twilight language material is in Joe’s latest work.
