Next summer, for the around-12-year-old female movie-going crowd, a new Bigfoot film will hit the theaters.
What “around-12-year-old female movie-going crowd,” you ask?
Well, apparently those who read Judy Moody books, I guess.
Third-grader Judy Moody sets out to have the most thrilling summer of her life, notes the tagline.
Set to hit theaters on June 10, 2011, the movie is entitled Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer.
The movie stars Jordana Beatty of Superman Returns as Judy and Parris Mosteller as Judy’s little brother Stink, who join forces to search for Bigfoot.
The quest is made more complex during the summer because Heather Graham (The Hangover, Boogie Nights), in the character of Aunt Opal, comes to visit and hangs around.

The film’s director is John Schultz (Aliens in the Attic, Like Mike).
The screenplay, written by co-writer Kathy Waugh (Peep and the Big Wide World) and Megan McDonald, is based on the characters in McDonald’s popular kiddie book series, illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds and published by Candlewick Press.
There are nine adventures in the bestselling series, in excess of 13 million copies in print worldwide, and available in over 22 different languages. Encouraged by the film’s script McDonald has even written a novel which will be published May 24, 2011.
Let us hope that the Bigfoot is better looking that the tiny one used in Little Bigfoot (below), released in 2006.
