The Missouri Department of Conservation has confirmed a mountain lion spotting in Missouri.
This time, photos of tracks turned up in Macon County, in Northeast Missouri.
This is the seventh verified mountain lion sighting in Missouri since late November and the 17th in modern time.
According to a member of the Conservation Department’s Mountain Lion Response Team, a landowner found large, cat-like tracks in a muddy creek bed while hunting mushrooms.
The spotting happened on April 20 near Economy, Missouri. That’s northeast of Long Branch Lake.
Despite rain washing away those tracks, the photos send to conservation officials are said to have the same characteristics of mountain lion tracks.
