Claws in Tracks
Could this drawing, done from life, demonstrate why there are seemingly “claw” marks in some Bigfoot prints?
Talking to Brad Steiger
In Brad and Sherry Steiger’s new book, Conspiracies And Secret Societies: The Complete Dossier, you won’t expect to find anything about cryptozoology and you don’t. But there, in the midst of the death lists of the eyewitnesses to the JFK assassination and the strange demise of microbiologists, I ran across my “Mothman Death List.” In an extremely well-researched, inexpensive, 539-page reference work, which I highly recommend, of course I was struck by seeing my research on this subject in Conspiracies And Secret Societies: The Complete Dossier. Sure, maybe the Steigers should have decided to take on the CIA work done [...]
Happy St. Cryptids Day
Where have all the green monsters gone? Yes, there are little people*. But Leprechauns mostly live in the lore and in the movies. Walt Disney visits Ireland to recruit a Leprechaun for a forthcoming movie. This week in Mobile, Alabama (hardly a focus of Irish culture), locals, according to The Anomalist Newsline, were reporting a Leprechaun sighting, creating traffic jams around the location: A dead end street in Mobile has become very busy the last couple of days because of people flocking to look at a tree. The street is Lecren Street off of Bayshore Avenue. The crowds started gathering [...]
Thylacine: World’s Rarest Animal?
New Sightings, New Expeditions This January 2006, the most recent sighting of a Thylacine occurred. The Standard recorded probably what was the first cryptid sighting of 2006, that took place on January 2: “A Tasmanian tiger or thylacine ran across a road north of Colac about 12.50am…according to Warrion man Steven Bennett….The 24-year-old said the animal’s stripes, tail and hind legs convinced him it was not a dog, feral cat or fox.” So the Thylacine sightings continue. In a new article examining “The Thylacine Debate – Is the Tasmanian Tiger Really Extinct?” by Chani Blue, in Australia’s Epoch Times for [...]
Almas 2006 Expedition
Here’s an update to John Kirk’s posting. In an exclusive communiqué sent to me this month, Adam Davies and Andrew Sanderson tell of finalizing their next new search. The two UK cryptozoologists, who appeared in the successful new National Geographic documentary about their search for the Orang Pendek, are back, hot on the trail of other hairy hominoids in 2006. They are planning a return expedition to Mongolia and now it is set to occur in June. This time the objective is to find evidence of the elusive Almas. The two close friends are excited to go. Preparations are being [...]

Show Me The Permit, Please
In yesterday’s Cryptomundo update on the Malaysian situation, the permit paradox was highlighted at the end of that review. The Malaysian and international media have focussed on "no one" applying for permits to look for the Johor unknown hairy hominoids. This is being stated while at the same time the government is discouraging foreigners from searching and yet a segment of the regional authority is trying to encourage ecotourism. Confusing, isn’t it? Now comes a reply on this matter. ———- Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2006 09:01:46 +0800 [Malaysian time] To: Loren Coleman Subject: Re: Application Request Dear Loren, Referring to [...]
Neither Boaring nor Boring: Johor’s Bigfoot Brouhaha
Consider this, the first recent sightings of the Johor area "Bigfoot" took place in November 2005. Isn’t it rather amazing that the foreign media is still talking about Malaysia’s unknown hairy hominoids? And despite the fact that this has little to do with the traditional Pacific Northwest Bigfoot? But the news organizations are, and it’s time to pass on some behind-the-scenes exclusive news for Cryptomundo readers. Joshua Gates, 28, the host of the Sci-Fi Channel’s Destination: Truth, was one of the first American reality television filmmakers to get to Malaysia. He did this before the mild restrictions on searching for [...]
