Ralph Bradshaw White, 66, a National Geographic contract cameraman who filmed the documentary Search for the Loch Ness Monster, died February 4, 2008, at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center in California, the Los Angeles Times announced on February 13. White died from complications of an aortic aneurysm, said his daughter, Krista Few of Yokosuka, Japan. White was most famous, in filmmaking circles, for his gripping footage that documented the 1985 discovery of the sunken Titanic. This week marks the 50th anniversary of Tom Slick’s most organized, first San Antonio Zoo-sponsored expedition in search of the Yeti. It was formally called the Slick-Johnson Snowman Expedition. Hoax? Failed hunt? Mistaken identity? An update from PNG appears to have a different point of view that the last report published. Papua New Guinean authorities have called off a four-day “Komodo hunt”, believing reports of an escaped Komodo Dragon could be a hoax. Red-Faced Laughing Cryptid Monkeys

Mini-Fossils: Flying Reptile & Island Dino
Perhaps they all owned iPods Nanos? Small cute fossil finds pointing to pygmy versions of extinct forms appear to be in the news lately. Being tiny goes back a long way. A new fossil species of flying reptile with a wingspan of less than a foot across (30cm) has been discovered in China. The nearly complete skeleton was unearthed in fossil beds from northeastern China. One of the smallest pterosaurs ever discovered, the new species has been named Nemicolopterus crypticus, which means “hidden flying forest dweller.” Read more here. Why Mokele-Mbembe Is Not A Rhino
The Emela-ntouka has been an unknown animal of some confusion in Africa. A few chroniclers have felt it was merely another named cryptid representing the sightings of the Mokele-mbembe.
