Show Me The Permit, Please
In yesterday’s Cryptomundo update on the Malaysian situation, the permit paradox was highlighted at the end of that review. The Malaysian and international media have focussed on "no one" applying for permits to look for the Johor unknown hairy hominoids. This is being stated while at the same time the government is discouraging foreigners from searching and yet a segment of the regional authority is trying to encourage ecotourism. Confusing, isn’t it? Now comes a reply on this matter. ———- Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2006 09:01:46 +0800 [Malaysian time] To: Loren Coleman Subject: Re: Application Request Dear Loren, Referring to [...]
Neither Boaring nor Boring: Johor’s Bigfoot Brouhaha
Consider this, the first recent sightings of the Johor area "Bigfoot" took place in November 2005. Isn’t it rather amazing that the foreign media is still talking about Malaysia’s unknown hairy hominoids? And despite the fact that this has little to do with the traditional Pacific Northwest Bigfoot? But the news organizations are, and it’s time to pass on some behind-the-scenes exclusive news for Cryptomundo readers. Joshua Gates, 28, the host of the Sci-Fi Channel’s Destination: Truth, was one of the first American reality television filmmakers to get to Malaysia. He did this before the mild restrictions on searching for [...]
Vance Orchard Meets Roger Patterson, 1966
The late Vance Orchard mentioned, before he recently died, a 1966 incident that drew him into the search for Bigfoot. Here is the news item he wrote as a followup to that incident concerning the visit from Roger Patterson caused by that Walla Walla event. Below is a reproduction of the forty-year-old article Orchard wrote about the sighting near Walla Walla and the Roving Reporter’s time with Roger Patterson. The article includes a photo of Patterson with two track casts he’d found elsewhere, and the image of the eyewitness to the 1966 incident. The article can be enlarged for easier [...]
Clawed: The Legend of Bigfoot
In this week’s This Alaskan Life, in a longer profile article, there is the brief mention of a "new" Bigfoot movie coming to a DVD store near you: One day in 2001, Don Rearden got an email from movie director Karl Kozak, who was looking for someone to write a screenplay about Bigfoot. Rearden replied immediately. Growing up in Bethel, Rearden had heard a lot of “hairy man” stories, and he considered himself a student of Sasquatch lore….Rearden’s Bigfoot script – originally titled Terra Incognito, then changed to The Legend of Echo Mountain, then to The Unknown, and appearing soon [...]
Vance Orchard (1917-2006): In His Own Words
Loren Coleman interviewed Vance Orchard shortly before his death.
The Ray Wallace Debate – Part IV
How can anyone not see that, indeed, Ray Wallace and/or his associates did use the carved wooden tools, such as this left foot fake (seen here on the right) in the series from Blue Creek Mountain, 1967 (one example track is shown here)? Blue Creek Mountain is near Bluff Creek, California, of course. The divisive nature of this debate is obvious. Those who deny Ray Wallace was involved in actual hoaxing continue to engage in black and white thinking. I am one of the foremost supporters of the reality of Bigfoot, and you would think that because I want the [...]
