New Frog Discovered in Oz

Australia’s Northern Territory-based FrogWatch group reports it has discovered a new species of frog in East Arnhem Land, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The Arnhem Land Region is one of the five regions of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is located in the northeastern corner of the territory and is around 500km from the territory capital Darwin.

FrogWatch coordinator Graeme Sawyer noted the frog was first spotted a few years ago but only during September 2010 has it been announced that a new species has been recognized and acknowledged. A name for the new species has yet to be bestowed.
