I received an extremely depressing email this morning.

“Bad news for us here regards the conference; we have problems with the venue; they have now told us they are double booked….We had a bad job getting a venue and everywhere else seems to be booked up. It is with regret that we feel we will cancel the conference this year. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Inconvenience? Giving talks and selling books at such events are that extras needed to support the rent and running of the museum, of course. So much for a doing this job and getting some funds for the museum. I am a little more than upset, although I don’t blame the BCIB, of course, for any of this. Things happen.
Delivering the keynote lecture at the mystery cats conference in Scotland was to have the much anticipated, exciting, added benefit of a promised sidetrek to Loch Ness, and an on-site investigation of the “Nessie is dead” rumors. That would have triggered an article I could have sold, for more income for the museum. Figgering frustrating. The best laid plans and all that.

Since the BCIB had already moved this from March/April to June, due to someone having a baby, I wondered.
Now my wondering is over, and Scotland and Loch Ness in June are off the travel plans. Bloody damn it!
Anyone interested in having me for a talk to your group in June or any other time this year or in the future, please get in touch through this clickable contact form here.
If you have been thinking about contributing some cold hard cash (even $10 each) to the museum, any and all donations would be appreciated today and in the near future. This is depressing news since there has been a downturn in visitors since my 50th anniversary celebration, especially over Easter (zero!) and during this rainy week of weather (two folks). Thank you!
As always, please use the “donate” button directly below (which is different than the donate button up top, which goes to Craig, the owner of Cryptomundo, not the museum):
Deep Appreciation!
