Mystery animal found roaming WILMINGTON — The town appears to be home to a mystery creature, much like the dog-like animal that haunted Maine residents for months before being hit by a car last month. A Lloyd Road resident called police yesterday morning to report that his son “was almost attacked by what he believes to be a mountain lion” the previous night, according to police logs. The man described the beast as being “large” and “grey/white in color,” the logs note. The Animal Control Officer was notified of the incident, the logs say. Johor Bigfoot Interest Evaporates
The first recent sightings of the Johor Bigfoot took place in November 2005. Although the commotion had little to do with the traditional Pacific Northwest Bigfoot, the news organizations in Asia and America kept the interest level high for the first few months of 2006, calling them Orang Dalam, Johor Bigfoot, or Malaysian Mawas. But since the awful “johor hominid” hoax was exposed, where photographs of actors dressed as prehistoric hominids were promoted as the “real” things from the jungles of Malaysia, the attention has crashed. The famed footprint cast is for sale and a reality tv program on the [...]
C2C: Recap
The “Coast to Coast AM with George Noory” producers/webmaster (Lisa, Tom & Lex) have posted their recap of my appearance here: Coleman Update First hour guest, Loren Coleman commented on the copycat nature of the Montreal school shooting, relating it to recent shootings in Vermont, North Carolina and France. The media plays a part by publicizing the anniversaries of events such as Columbine, he said. Coleman also gave an update on cryptozoology news, discussing the ‘Wooly Rhino’ and other creatures. Several interesting callers phoned in, with the best sighting of the night shared, in some detail, by an individual who [...]
Monsterfest
The “Monsterfest” is being held this year. The information I passed along this week here, noting nothing was planned, I’ve been informed, was out-of-date. The Mothman Festival will not be the only “monster-related” gathering taking place during this weekend in September in West Virginia. Here’s the local chamber of commerce’s announcement: Braxton County Monster Fest: September 16, 2006. Flatwoods, West Virginia. Celebrate the legend of Flatwoods with a drama, live music, dancing, a jungle safari, a masquerade dance and history. Arts and crafts available with sidewalk sales at the Flatwoods Factory Stores. Hours are 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. For [...]
Sasquatch Mountain Cast & Crew
Another Cryptomundo Exclusive The above is the cast and crew photograph from the shooting of Sasquatch Mountain. You can see in the middle of the photo the actor (Tiny Ron) who was in the Bigfoot suit. He had to wear an orange vest, as it was hunting season in Arizona. Having him get fired upon was something the movie crew had to prevent. Tiny Ron, an American born Ronald Taylor, is seven feet tall and played professional basketball in the 1970s in Vienna Austria. He is often remembered for his role of Maihar’du on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.” Please [...]
Enhanced Mystery Pix
These versions (above) of the enhanced original photograph (below) by brineblank shows support for the "deer" camp. What would other enhancements demonstrate? Or is it a felid, like the caracal above? Or canid, like that dog running across your road? Is this photograph the "Mystery Animal" seen for decades in West Virginia’s Potomac Highlands? This picture was taken by an automatic digital camera set on private property in a 3000 acre wilderness in which no human inhabitants live. It was caught on film on August 8, 2006 at 0700 Hours. Since the original owners do not want to become embroiled [...]
C2C: Wooly Rhinos & TCE
Coast to Coast AM with George Noory I will be on Premiere Radio Networks’ C2C tonight, sometime from 10 to 11 p.m. on the Pacific Coast, or, where I am in the East, 1 to 2 a.m. Here’s how their website has it: First Hour: Loren Coleman will offer an update on the ‘Wooly Rhino’ and comment on the Montreal shooting. The wooly rhino material is based on the information I’ve shared here and here. That will be the cryptozoological part of my time. But I will be speaking on the breaking news item of the day too, the Dawson [...]
Mystery Hills Spider
September 13, 2006 Student Says He’s Found Spider Species ASSOCIATED PRESS ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – A previously unknown creature has been roaming the Kenai Peninsula’s Mystery Hills – or at least its alpine rock crevices. Matt Bowser, 26, a University of Alaska Fairbanks graduate student, has identified what is believed to be a new species of spider, a thumbtack-sized daddy longlegs, or harvestman. Bowser is writing a journal article on the spider with a national arachnid expert that will undergo peer review. Bowser was collecting bugs 13 months ago when he found the spider north of the Sterling Highway and [...]
