This is the image of the unknown animate object, perhaps a Bigfoot (?), taken by a remote camera on April 30, 2006, near Mt. Hood, Oregon. Click image for full-size version The following is more information shared by the photographers, Klindt & Dianna: The answer is yes we did set up the camera to capture a picture of Bigfoot. On the 29th [of April] the wind blew pine limbs that we had placed around the edge of the camera to mask our smell and hide the camera. We went up on the 30th [of April] and brought back the picture [...]
BFRO Gives Advice To Malaysia
Sometimes it is all about Malaysia, baby! Sometimes it’s not. Immediately upon publication of the Sunday New Straits Times article, "Book Has Bigfoot Pictures", following in the wake of the Cryptomundo exclusive on the Johor Mawas photograph story, the BFRO published the Malaysian news item followed by one of their editorializing "commentaries." The new BFRO comments have more the appearance of a copy of an email sent to Vincent Chow or some one in Malaysia than an editorial directed at the public. Nevertheless, it says a good deal about the current flavor that exists within the BFRO organization as personified [...]
Malaysia Reads Your Comments
New Straits Times Book Has Bigfoot Pictures Sunday, 07 May 2006 By R. Sittamparam ———————————————————————— JOHOR BARU: A book on the Johor Bigfoot, said to include exclusive photographs of the elusive creature, has caused a stir among cryptozoologists around the world. The book authored by local writers and researchers, including the man in the thick of Bigfoot research in Johor, Vincent Chow, is set to be released in the next few months. Chow said yesterday he had seen the Bigfoot photographs, which belonged to an individual. He added the individual wished to remain anonymous for the time being. "The owner [...]
The Face of the Johor Mawas
Cryptomundo Exclusive: Vincent Chow and the Photographs Vincent Chow, Malaysian cryptozoologist and serious-minded natural history investigator, wasn’t ready to talk about the photographs of the Johor Bigfoot, yet, but sometimes events flow more swiftly than one wishes. Such is the case this week when it came out at a news conference that Chow would be releasing the photographs of an unknown hominoid in a book in the near future (June appears a-too-wishful date). Peter Loh, 42, was there, and his new sketch is published here, for the first time, as an exclusive at Cryptomundo. It is based on Chow’s description [...]
Erectus Dimorphism Discovered?
The news coming out of Malaysia gets more and more interesting every day. Craig Woolheater’s "Malaysian Bigfoot = Surviving Homo erectus?" contains information from Singapore’s Peter Loh, wherein some remarkable potential findings are shared. Photographs, according to naturalist and cryptozoologist Vincent Chow, have been taken by local people of these "Bigfoot" or locally termed "Mawas." The images are so good, according to their descriptions, reported from the news conference by Peter Loh, that the genitalia are visible. Think about it. Right now, scientists do not even know if there is sexual dimorphism – a specific concept that encompasses a clear [...]
More From Mt. Hood
Click image for full-size version Click image for full-size version The photograph with the potential Bigfoot in a camera image that was taken between the two above can be found by clicking at "New Mt. Hood Bigfoot Photograph?" The photographs above were taken immediately before and after the possible Bigfoot camera image. These remote camera captures clearly show that animals, in these two specific cases, deer, set off the camera’s function. And yes, to answer a question asked about why the camera was placed there…the individuals were attempting to capture photographically a Bigfoot .
New Mt. Hood Bigfoot Photograph?
There’s a new “possible” Bigfoot photograph that has been submitted to Cryptomundo. We are making no claims about it, but thought our readers might be interested in looking at this one. And pondering what it might be. It was taken by a scouting camera on April 30, 2006, in the Mt. Hood National Forest, near The Dalles, Oregon. The camera is a Cuddeback digital scouting camera, which was attached to a tree about three feet off the ground. It has a motion/heat detector. Could it be someone going by in a poncho? I asked the people who placed the camera, [...]
The Patterson Affair
In the June 1968 issue of the Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained’s journal, Pursuit, cryptozoologist Ivan T. Sanderson detailed his involvement in the early investigation and dissemination of the footage taken by Roger Patterson on October 20, 1967. The article makes for interesting reading, as it gives an insider’s look at what some of the thinking was as the drama unfolded. The Patterson Affair by Ivan T. Sanderson The most outstanding event in the Fortean field during the past six months, and potentially one of the most important ever to have occurred was the obtaining of 30-feet of [...]
Fossil Hominoid Tracks
London’s The Sunday Times on April 30, 2006, carries the above remarkable photograph by Michael Amendolia. This one is from a series of fossil tracks of Pleistocene hominoids from 20,000 B.C., found recently near the Willandra Lakes, New South Wales, Australia. Steve Webb, of Bond University, Queensland, and Mary Pappin Jr, a 26-year-old member of the local Mutthi Mutthi tribe discovered the first of what would be 450 more humanlike tracks, as well as what appear to be spear holes in the ground and the tracks of kangaroos and emus. This is perhaps only an eighth of the total, the [...]
Media Watch: Wallace Again, Wrong Again
Reporter Cheryll Borgaard of the Longview Daily News in Washington State, on Sunday, April 30, 2006, has written a new article, entitled “Most Notorious — A legend or just elusive? Sasquatch keeps the world guessing.” Her article is a typical overview piece, rather good in most parts. The news item talks about the late Grover Krantz estimating there are 2000 or so Sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest, local Longview men Randy Trusty and David Hart collecting Bigfoot track plaster casts in 1998, Robert Michael Pyle discussing skepticism but finding three prints, and the differences being expressed between Krantz and Pyle [...]
