Coming to A&E this summer? The man is on the case, and how do you think the subject will be presented?
STRANGE DAYS WITH BOB SAGET (6 x 1 hour)
Premieres 2010
Bob Saget takes his unflinching, comedic observations about offbeat lifestyles on the road. He’ll immerse himself in cultures, practices, and occupations that few people have ever experienced, and always with hilarious and thought-provoking results. One week, Bob will be riding 1500 miles in a sidecar with some hardcore bikers, the next he will be deep inside the forest as part of mass [sic] expedition looking for Bigfoot, another week he will be living for a week as a fraternity brother at one of the nations most acclaimed universities. Through his firsthand encounters, viewers will get an intimate look at a wide variety of subcultures, and with Bob Saget’s unique blend of heart and humor, this show will not only make us laugh but make us reevaluate our perceptions of why people do the things they do.
“Strange Days with Bob Saget” is produced for A&E Network by Tijuana Entertainment (“Obsessed,” “The Two Coreys”) and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Executive producers for Tijuana are Troy Searer and John Foy. Peter Traugott will executive produce for Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Bob Saget will also serve as executive producer. Executive producers for A&E are Robert Sharenow and Scott Lonker.
The news has been in the air for awhile. Saget interviewed Bigfoot researcher John Bindernagel, who told of his second book, The Discovery of Sasquatch, due out this summer. Bindernagel came down from Courtenay, British Columbia, to met with Saget at the George Washington Inn in Washington State, which is a replica of the first U.S. president’s estate in Mount Vernon, Virginia.
There have been no secret about Saget’s filming progress. The “expedition” info and a few pictures were posted by Cliff Barackman, in April 2010 (source).
Is there a little concern in Barackman’s words, with this: ” Bob has always been interested in the Bigfoot subject (that was no surprise to me, everybody loves the ‘squatch). He takes it as seriously as a professional comedian can take anything….”

The Sasquatch episode of “Bob Saget’s Strange Days” will air in late summer or early fall 2010, the producers told the media.

The hope is that the program’s treatment of Sasquatch research in the editing room does not get expressed the same way Saget recently greeted a fan photographer.
Don’t say I didn’t editorially warn you about how comedians treat this subject. Allow me to leave you with a few vivid reminders: Don Keating on Comedy Central’s “The Daily News,” Scott Norman on Showtime’s Penn & Teller program, and these guys on Leigh Hart’s show.
