Our friends over at The Anomalist have pointed out a cool out-of-place animal story, about a member of the Sirenia, that you will want to read. On a day like this, I feel good just looking at this photograph. TA points out that the Poughkeepsie Journal of August 2, 2006, is reporting a ten-foot long, 1000-pound manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris) has been sighted in the Hudson River near Manhattan, New York City. The Journal notes: Watchers tracked this one last month as it swam north — first near Delaware, then Maryland, then New Jersey. Saturday, it was seen at 23rd [...]
Breaking Police News: New Bigfoot Encounter & Lion Killed
There’s been a new police encounter with Bigfoot on the Lakota Sioux Pine Ridge Reservation. The activity has not slowed down there. Past recent accounts have mentioned Bigfoot peering into houses and otherwise continuing to be seen in the area. As informant Windsage noted within the Cryptomundo’s comments section: I lived on the Pine Ridge reservation last year (2005). You would be hard pressed to find a single person there who doesn’t believe in the existence of Bigfoot. I personally heard police on the scanners, talking excitedly about sightings and pursuits of Bigfoot. No one in their right mind would [...]

Raymond Goh of API gives permission to mirror his blog here: Chinese Experts questioned Johor Bigfoot Homo Erectus Reverse Evolution Theory Model of Shennongjia Bigfoot at Shennongjia Museum Illustration of Shennongjia Bigfoot (picture courtesy of Sina News) On July 3, the China News Network reported an article, entitled "Malaysian researchers new discovery :" Johor Bigfoot "is the" Peking man. The article reported that reported that : "Malaysian Nature Society Johor branch adviser Vincent Chow to the reporters on that he was collecting the latest evidence that ‘Johor Bgfoot’ is very likely to be an ancestor of modern human, and may [...]
Eyes on Johor: New Drawing Linked to French Illusion
Interestingly, the day after Cryptomundo filed an update here on the void in the Johor Bigfoot photo situation, Sean Ang posted yet another drawing from the alleged photographs. My commentary on this new material follows an introduction of what has newly appeared. Part of what is being said follows: The above is a sketch based on Photograph labelled as JH002: Jogi. Both Photograph JH002 and JH003 belong to the same individual, probably a young adult female hominin. Whereas photograph JH001: Joman is a photograph of a full body of an adult male hominin, both JH002 and JH003 are closeup of [...]
Exclusive: Pine Ridge Bigfoot Update
At left, Bruce Schildt’s kids stand near a line of tracks their father believes might belong to Bigfoot. The tracks were discovered Jan. 1, 2006, when the elder Schildt notified Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife and had them investigate. The best track is the one above. Schildt reports the tracks are about 18 inches long and 10 inches wide, and the stride is around 39 inches. There were 30 or 40 tracks, said Schildt, including one very clear print. This all happened at Kiowa Camp, on the reservation of the Blackfeet First Nation, Montana, just east of the Glacier National Park, [...]
Johor Bigfoot Photos: Still Nothing
Why is the Malaysian situation at such a stalemate? What the February Johor footprint (above) tells us grows more confusing, but, at least, it is in hand. As of the last day of July 2006, still no photographs of the unknown hairy hominoids reportedly taken in Johor, Malaysia, have been shown publicly, shared with the scientific community, or published. Drawings, yes, exist, but you will be spared seeing those again here. (You can find them by clicking “Malaysian Bigfoot” in the column to the right.) Vincent Chow and Sean Ang are using their site, once again, to leak more details [...]
Mac Guy Meets Bigfoot
Recognize the guy here? Not the hairy one, but the guy underneath, on the right? Ah, that’s the Mac Guy. He’s become more famous for this role than some of his movies. But Justin Long is a rather up and coming young actor. He has been in more movies than you probably remember. Right now, he’s starring in Accepted, about the university he decides to create. He was in Dodgeball, recall, as the cheerleader who gets the girl? Long turned up in great Peyton Reed-directed gem, The Break-Up, with his good friend, Vince Vaughn. In general, Justin Long plays to [...]
Breaking Bigfoot News: Pine Ridge Reservation
Word-of-mouth news is coming out of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota that there’s been at least a couple new sightings of Sasquatch there. None of these have been reported in the local or national media. Reports in late July 2006, tell of police responding to sightings of a large individual (like Bigfoot) peering in windows. One officer saw the thing himself near a creek and wanted a camera to take a photograph, but no camera was available. Then on July 28, 2006, another report of a large individual (like Bigfoot) is heard on a police scanner, peering once [...]
Famed Bigfoot Group Shuts Down
A few choice small regional Sasquatch study groups, during the 1990s, grew into national organizations. Others died off quickly. Now Cryptomundo learns of the closing of a significant and important club that had a far-reaching, friendly impact. The internet is beginning to change the landscape of how people meet and exchange Bigfoot information. Are we seeing the start of a decline in such groups? Today, the passing of one of the best grassroots Bigfoot organizations must be mourned. Out in Oregon, Ray Crowe, 69, is closing the doors of his International Bigfoot Society. Ray began the organization, first as the [...]
Real Monsters of Madagascar
Kevin Fitzgerald, 55, a science writer for the Journal Inquirer of Manchester, Connecticut, and past contributor to Grzimek Encyclopedia of Animal Life and the New England Skeptical Society’s online “Encyclopedia of Skepticism,” is the guest blogger today. Fitzgerald wrote me commenting that he would like to expand on some thoughts regarding Madagascar’s animals, as his travels there had given him some firsthand insights that might be of interest to Cryptomundo readers. This is in reaction to the U. S. Navy SEALs account about seeing an animal in the Congo that looks like a supposed “ape” on Madagascar. Fitzgerald does not [...]
