Lake Cameron Monster Hoax

Perhaps in anticipation of the upcoming BCSSC expedition during September at Lake Cameron, someone has conducted a monstrous hoax at the British Columbia site.

An earlier photograph from Lake Cameron created interest in the mysterious sightings in the body of water.

Now, according to the Parksville Qualicum News, a new visitor has turned up at the lake:

“A home-make lake creature can be seen from Highway 4, attached to a submerged log in the lake. It’s an obvious reference – and a lot of hard work put into the effort – to reported sightings over recent years of an actual entity in the water and the return next month of scientists studying the phenomenon.”

The new lake monster is pictured below:

Certainly, a great deal of labor went into pulling off this fakery, as some sort of popular cultural tribute, I suppose.
