International Cryptozoology Museum: Fall 2020 ~ Memorial Day 2021 Schedule

A New Beginning
The Year of 2020 has been a challenge, which, in the end, is revealing itself full of some positive changes for the International Cryptozoology Museum. The world’s only nonprofit cryptozoology museum is safely open, and due to a closure of the former restaurant at Thompson’s Point, we have expanded.
The Museum has taken over the entire area that has in the past been used for an eating establishment and hallway. This expansion has involved more than a third increase in our space, the addition of fourteen (14) new display cases, and the acquisition of several new exhibits.

COVID-19 is not going away quickly, and we will continue to maintain a high degree of safety and social distancing. With our new opportunity of more space for the Museum, we have added extra distancing and air circulation, as well as display areas and new exhibitions.

Days Open
As we move into our Fall-Winter schedule, here is the new hours for our seven days a week timetable. effective October 1, 2020, through Memorial Day, 2021.

Unlike past years when we went to a winter schedule that dropped one day a week, we will remain open 7 days a week throughout the year. Please plan ahead so you choose a time when we are open.

Daily Hours of Operation

Due to the shifting darkness, we will be adjusting the schedule to earlier in the day and closing before it gets too dark and cold:
Open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (doors close at 3:30 pm) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays;
Open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (doors close at 5:30 pm) on Fridays and Saturdays; and
Open 11:00 am to 4:00 pm (doors close at 3:30 pm) on Sundays.

Admission Fee Changes

As of October 1st, we will be changing to a pandemic reduced educational fee for all students (homeschooling, regular schooling, remotely learning) between the ages of toddler to 18 years of age, Monday through Thursday, including during “school vacation weeks” at a rate of $5.00 per youth. All students must be accompanied by an instructor, guardian, or parent.

No group rates, no further discounts for students, enmasse. The thoughtful student rate takes care of a broad consideration of students during the winter of the pandemic.

Any toddler in a stroller or held in a parent’s arms continues to be free.

Snow Days

We expect to have snow days, and, being in Maine, realize they will occur. The Museum will attempt to be open every day this winter. But sometimes the forecast alerts us before we open, and we will post notices of a “Snow Day.” If we are already open and the weather begins to change, the staff on duty will post on the doors, “Closed due to Inclement Weather” and depart to get safely home.
