Mokele-Mbembe Hunter’s Gravesite Service

As a follow-up to the remembrance of James Powell (see here), there is this new photograph to share.

This is the Plainview Herald image from Mokele-Mbembe hunter James H. Powell, Jr.’s Texas gravesite service of January 31, 2012.

“With the help of Matt Gregory (standing left) of Kornerstone Funeral Directors and county officials, UBS arranged for Tuesday’s memorial service and interment beside his parents in Plainview Memorial Park. More than a dozen attended the service, which included comments from UBS Training Coordinator Karri Young. Powell was a member of the Explorers Club and led or participated in several international expeditions,” reporter Doug McDonough of the Plainview Herald noted.

It was good to learn that so many people were there for him at the end.
