CZ Museum To Expand, Become NonProfit

The International Cryptozoology Museum is on the move. And we need your help at a very critical time. In the coming two months, the ICM will announce exact details about our relocation from a comfortable, modest room and a half at the back of Green Hand Books to a space that will allow us to stretch our legs. We are going to be re-installing the museum, all displays, exhibits, new selections, a research library for members’ use, and an expanded gift store in a space that will be six times as large as where we are now.

We will not be moving very far down Congress Street in Portland, so everyone will be able to find us easily. During this planning time, the International Cryptozoology Museum is mounting a major campaign for donations to support this upcoming move.

In addition, the museum is going to be re-curated in a colorful retro style, midcentury modern, to take advantage of the space, highlight the color and look of the 1940s-1960s, give our visitors another level of exhibitory experience, and showcase the founder’s extensive collection of art and objects from that time period. The museum may turn into a designation attraction for a variety of reasons.

The International Cryptozoology Museum needs to gather funds for our upcoming move to this much larger space. Movers, painters, new rugs. The expenses, including new rent costs, are huge. In conjunction with the move, the higher rent, and the more formalized evolution of the museum, we filed for tax-exempt nonprofit status during August. We have legally been alerted to the fact that any donations you give in support of the museum will be a tax-deduction for Tax Year 2011. Our development has been made possible by some of you giving past donations, and all who have chipped in are to be appreciated for that. Your continued and new support is important to assist us in this next grand phase of our development.

If there is any way you can give $10, $50, $100, or more, and have or haven’t before, this is the time to assist this growing cryptozoology institution. Please. Today. If you wish give your contribution offline, please send your donation to the International Cryptozoology Museum, PO Box 360, Portland, ME 04112, with your check or money order. Thank you.
