As mentioned earlier here, the program Weird Travels on the Travel Channel has produced a series of episodes that focus on cryptozoology. One that just premiered a couple of weeks ago is being rebroadcast on January 30th. It is "Bigfoot" with Craig Woolheater, his crew, and a few words from yours truly, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Eastern.
But this is only the tip of the crypto-iceberg.
The following is the schedule through the end of February for three episodes, "Lake Monsters" (about Nessie and Champ), "Creepy Creatures" (about Sasquatch, Loch Ness Monsters, and Mothman), and "Bigfoot."
All times are for the Eastern Time Zone, USA.
JAN 30 2006 @ 04:00 PM Weird Travels Creepy Creatures
JAN 30 2006 @ 06:00 PM Weird Travels Bigfoot
JAN 30 2006 @ 07:00 PM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
JAN 31 2006 @ 02:00 AM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 17 2006 @ 10:00 PM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 18 2006 @ 01:00 AM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 18 2006 @ 10:00 AM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 24 2006 @ 03:00 PM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 27 2006 @ 09:00 PM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
FEB 28 2006 @ 12:00 AM Weird Travels Lake Monsters
See the specific "Weird Travels" site at the Travel Channel website’s listings for changes or future dates.
Additionally, a couple other Travel Channel episodes of other programs might have a few things to say about cryptozoology.
One is a thirty-minute overview of "Flathead Lake," on February 1, 2006, from 2:00 to 2:30 pm Eastern. The Flathead Lake Monster is certainly part of the lore of the area, and those in pursuit of this Montana cryptid might wish to tune in, to see if there’s anything about that beastie or to just collect some insights about the lake itself.
On Friday, February 3, 10:00-11:00 PM, Eastern, then again at February 4, 1:00-2:00 AM and 10:00-11:00 AM, the Travel Channel broadcasts the same episode of "Investigating the Unexplained." Of the three segments in this single hour-long episode, there is one section reportedly on Bigfoot. I’ve not seen it, so I’m not sure what aspect of hominology it explores.
Perhaps Cryptomundo readers can post their reviews of these various rebroadcasts or new screenings.
Enjoy.
Yes, this is a wire service story from January 10th that briefly notes the Malaysian “Bigfoot” story. For more detailed aspects of the developing Malaysian story, check out the archives here, as both Craig and I have been keeping Cryptomundo readers updated on that country’s hairy hominoid news, as well as adding our commentaries.
