I smell a rat here. Both images appear obviously to have been taken with an ultra-wide lens, with the camera very close to the squid and the persons much further back, in order to produce a false perspective. In the first image particularly, look at the size of the beach pebbles next to the squid RELATIVE to the size of the squid and then do the same with the pebbles near the people. The squid may be 'big' but I suspect it ain't as big as they'd want us to believe. Just my $0.02 worth.
